Artwork

I noticed the character artwork on Florian's page is using the Scarlet artwork (Naranja Academy) as the default and Violet (Uva Academy Uniform) as "Alternate artwork". Given that the official Pokémon Scarlet and Violet website uses the Scarlet version Juliana and Violet version Florian artwork on the characters page, I suggest we do the same. The majority of trailers on the Official Pokémon YouTube channel use Scarlet version Juliana and Violet version Florian. Most promotional artwork follows this pattern as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on this suggested edit? Nyahoja (talk) 20:24, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Florian Name Origin

Is there a source for the origin of Florian's name being named after a US state, I don't think that sounds right if the region is based on Spain.--FrostyZippy (talk) 23:05, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

The term Florian is very similar to the US state of Florida. The Florida name is named after being one of the oldest Spanish colonies outside America. - unsigned comment from Pokemondude1999 (talkcontribs)

That makes sense, however, the origin of Florida's name comes from the term "florido" which means full of flowers, thus why the named it La Florida. Also, it was because of Pascua Florida, the Festival of Flowers, from the Spanish Easter season. If anything, wouldn't the origin "flor" already listed include this? Feel free to correct me if you feel otherwise, I found a wikipedia article regarding the name itself, where its meaning mentions "flowering". I'm not going to remove your edit myself, I just wanted to point this out as it seems unnecessary.--FrostyZippy (talk) 00:48, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Be that as it may, if the region was based on the United States, I would give it a second thought. IMO, Florian being possibly based on the US State of Florida is a stretch. Juliana has no such references to that, if anything, both names are more closely related to youth, springtime of their lives. I'd advise not editing it back before reaching an agreement here. I believe we have reached a conclusion here. All protagonist pairs have names referring to a single idea. For example, Gloria and Victor refer to winning, as in Glory and Victory, Elio and Selene refer to the Greek gods of the sun and moon, respectively, Rosa and Nate refer to "resonate," Hilbert and Hilda refer to the Germanic words for battle (their Japanese names refer to fighting), and Dawn, Lucas, Akari, and Rei all refer to light and radiance in some way. So with the Gen 9 protagonists referring to youthfulness and flourishing, it would be strange that one of them mentions a US state with no connection to that from Juliana.--FrostyZippy (talk) 02:40, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Move

I suggest moving this page from "Florian (game)" to simply "Florian" (which is currently a redirect to this page).
