The Metal Powder (Japanese: メタルパウダー Metal Powder ) is a type of held item introduced in Generation II . It boosts the Defense stat of a Ditto that holds it.
In the core series games Price Effect Generation II If held by a Ditto , increases its Defense and Special Defense by 50%, even when transformed .
In Pokémon Stadium 2 , Metal Powder only increases Ditto's Defense and Special Defense when it is not transformed.[ 1]
Generation III onward If held by a Ditto , doubles its Defense stat. It does not work when Ditto is transformed .
The stat boost now applies to Pokémon who have transformed into Ditto.
