Hashima Island / Gunkanjima

I'll probably add this myself, but unless someone wants to chime in on this (or point out if it's already been added)... The Abandoned Ship, and its proximity to Dewford Town and Slateport City, kinda reminds me of the Abandoned City on Hashima Island, relatively between Tsushima Island (Dewford's analogue) and Nagasaki City (Slateport's analogue), which is also known as "Battleship Island" (Gunkanjima). It may be a stretch, but I think it's too coincidental to not be related to one another.... Whaddya think? -- Nick15 (talk) 21:05, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

I think it's quite possible and may be notable, though it depends on what admins say. Ariano (talk) 08:07, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
There's a page for this type of comparison. You can just put it in there instead. --超龍Chao 08:15, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Split

I think that the article should be split between Abandoned Ship and Sea Mauville. Despite the same location and certain similarities, those are two different facilities of different types (one is a ship and another one is a research platform) with completely different histories. It is not an example of a change like Pokemon Tower > Kanto Radio Tower, where a certain location was overhauled and renamed in a certain point of the time. In case of Abandoned Ship/Sea Mauville, these belong to two different timelines, so they aren't completely exchangeable. And with Zinnia's statement that the original RSE and ORAS are two separate dimensions, the two should be considered as something like "Inter-dimensional counterparts". They don't belong to the same reality - Sea Mauville was founded as Sea Mauville and the Abandoned Ship had never anything to do with Mauville or Wattson, so I think it's better to treat them separately. And since we even treat Bill's Sea Cottage and Bill's Lighthouse in separate articles, then the Abandoned Ship and Sea Mauville deserve this treatment even more. --Maxim (talk) 17:12, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

I am in total agreement with this. I mentioned this on the forums myself. The guy watching the construction of the SS Tidal says "Sea Mauville is a unique place. It’s a building, yet it’s also a natural preserve", while the guy with the Plusle shirt on the Sea Mauville says "I came here cause my uncle told me there are extraordinary treasures in this abandoned building", and an elderly guy on the roof of Mauville City calls it a platform. --HoennMaster 20:46, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Agreed that splitting would be the best option here since it's clear that these are two very different facilities sharing the same location. --Pokemaster97 04:18, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, the two locations are simply too different. They fulfill the same roll, but they certainly aren't the same location. Splitting is absolutely necessary. --SnorlaxMonster 08:55, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
