Release information

This card was included in the Paradox Rift expansion with artwork by Tetsu Kayama, first released in the Japanese Terastal Starter Set Mewtwo ex. An SVP Black Star Promotional print of this card was one of the Prerelease promos for Paradox Rift with new artwork by GOSSAN, available in the Paradox Rift Build & Battle Box. A print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was given to those overseeing Prerelease Tournaments. A Non Holofoil version of the Paradox Rift card was also included in the Paradox Rift Build & Battle Box.

This card was reprinted as a Regular card with new artwork by DOM, and a Secret card featuring the Shiny version of Xatu with artwork by nagimiso, in the Paldean Fates expansion, first released in the Japanese Shiny Treasure ex subset.

Super Psy Bolt's Japanese name is derived from the Japanese name of Confusion, a move in the Pokémon games that Xatu cannot learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Shield.
