| はじめに あったのは こんとんの うねり だけだった すべてが まざりあい ちゅうしんに タマゴが あらわれた こぼれおちた タマゴより さいしょの ものが うまれでた さいしょの ものは ふたつの ぶんしんを つくった じかんが まわりはじめた くうかんが ひろがりはじめた さらに じぶんの からだから みっつの いのちを うみだした ふたつの ぶんしんが いのると もの というものが うまれた みっつの いのちが いのると こころ というものが うまれた せかいが つくりだされたので さいしょのものは ねむりについた |
In the beginning, there was only a chaotic, heaving sea. Everything was mixed together, and in the centre an egg appeared. From the egg fell out the first one. The first one created two bunshin. Time started to turn. Space started to expand. It also bore from its own body three [mortal] lives. The two bunshin prayed and the thing called matter was born. The three lives prayed and the thing called spirit was born. As the world had been created, the first one went to sleep. |

Those who see the eyes of that Pokémon will instantly lose their memories, never to return. Those who touch that Pokémon will lose their feelings for three days. Those who hurt that Pokémon will not be able to move for seven days, and be unable to do anything. |

Story 1 | |
| うみや かわで つかまえた ポケモンを たべたあとの ホネを きれいに きれいにして ていねいに みずのなかに おくる そうすると ポケモンは ふたたび にくたいを つけて この せかいに もどってくるのだ |
After eating Pokémon caught from the rivers or the sea, clean its bones and carefully deliver it to the waters. In so doing, the Pokémon will again have flesh, and return to this world. |
Story 2 | |
| もりのなかで くらす ポケモンが いた もりのなかで ポケモンは かわをぬぎ ひとにもどっては ねむり また ポケモンの かわをまとい むらに やってくるのだった |
There was a Pokémon that lived in the forest. In the forest, the Pokémon took off its pelt, turning back into a human and going to sleep. Then it again put on the pelt of the Pokémon, and came to the village. |

| ひとと けっこんした ポケモンがいた ポケモンと けっこんした ひとがいた むかしは ひとも ポケモンも おなじだったから ふつうのことだった |
There was a Pokémon that married a human. There was a human that married a Pokémon. In the olden days, people and Pokémon were the same so it was ordinary. |
