Sinister Surge

Once during your turn, you may use this Ability. Search your deck for a Basic Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Then, shuffle your deck. If you attached Energy to a Pokémon in this way, place 2 damage counters on that Pokémon.
As it scatters toxic sweat and emits electricity, a melody that sounds like it came from a guitar reverberates through the surrounding area.

Release information
This card was included as a Regular card and a Full Artillustration rare card in the Phantasmal Flames expansion, first released in the Japanese Inferno X expansion. The Regular print features artwork by DOM, while the Full Art illustration rare print features artwork by Terada Tera.
In Taiwan and Hong Kong, this card is reprinted as a Traditional Chinese M-P Promotional card, and is included as one of the three promo card pairs that can be obtained from the booster pack included in the Inferno X Value Set. The Traditional Chinese M-P Promotional print features artwork by Krgc and the "Inferno X" logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork. The Traditional Chinese M-P Promotional print is released internationally as an MEP Black Star Promotional card and was one of the Prerelease promos for Phantasmal Flames, available in the Phantasmal Flames Build & Battle Box. A print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was given to those overseeing Prerelease Tournaments.
A player may use "Sinister Surge" on their Benched Darkness-type Pokémon with 20 HP or less; if they do, the 2 damage counters placed from the Ability will cause that Pokémon to be Knocked Out.[1][2] The text for the "Sinister Surge" Ability has no clause prohibiting it from being used on a Pokémon that would be Knocked Out by it (unlike in eg. Gardevoir ex's "Psychic Embrace" Ability).
When using "Sinister Surge", the player may choose to not get out any Basic (Darkness) Energy cards from their deck, in which case they shuffle their deck and end the process.[1]
