Quotes

Pokémon HOME (Nintendo Switch version)

"This screen is the main menu! This is where you'll be able to access ALL the available features. Just pick the one you want! Move the cursor with the Left Stick and select the function you want with the A Button! And if you want to go back to the previous screen, just press the B Button!"
"This is the screen where you select a game's save data that you want to connect to Pokémon HOME! Oh boy! If there is save data on your Nintendo Switch that you can connect to Pokémon HOME, the icons for the games will be listed HERE! If you want to organise Boxes without connecting a game to Pokémon HOME, please select this icon!"
"This right here is the Pokémon Box screen! On this screen, you can move Pokémon in and out of the games you connect to—easy peasy, Nomel squeezey! Tap the ZL or ZR Buttons, and you can change your operation mode. The red cursor is your regular mode, nice and simple. The blue cursor lets you swap Pokémon one after another. And the green cursor lets you select multiple Pokémon at once! If you select the Box Spaces button down here, you can see a list of all the Boxes you've got squirrelled away in each of your Box Spaces! You can swap around entire Boxes while you're in your Box Spaces, so why not try to keep things nice and tidy? If you press the Newest 30 button, you'll be whizzed straightaway to a special view that lets you access the Boxes where you tucked away the 30 newest additions to the cozy Pokémon HOME! When you've had enough of organising your Boxes for a time, press the + Button to save your work. This is really important! If you don't save, all the hard work you did will disappear...like it never even happened! Oh no!"
"On this screen, you can see ALL the Pokémon in your Pokémon HOME Boxes and the Boxes you've got saved in the game you're currently connected to, as well. They're all here for you to take a peep at! Use the Y Button and you can change the order they're sorted in. And you can sort 'em any old way you like. From highest Attack to lowest, from lowest Defense to highest... There's no shortage of methods to try! Use the X Button to set a number of different filters and home in on just the Pokémon you want to see! You can filter for moves, Abilities, and so much more!"
"This is the grand Pokédex that Grand Oak whipped up. Neat-o, right? It'll automatically register any Pokémon you bring along to your cozy Boxes here in Pokémon HOME! Of course it's a super goal to complete the WHOLE Pokédex with every last Pokémon out there! But, boy, is that ever a lot of work! Try using Spotlight Mode to focus in on different regional Pokédexes, and keep chipping away at that goal—one region at a time! But that's not all! Have you tried giving your L or R Buttons a squeeze? Press 'em and you'll be switched right on over to your Research Tasks! Grand Oak himself wants YOUR help with his great research, so help an old man out, won't you?"
"This list view lets you just go on and take a gander at all the Pokémon you've registered in all their glory! It sure is a sight, isn't it? Whenever you want to take a closer look at any one of your Pokémon as you scroll through, give that A Button a little press! The X Button opens up the filter window! Fwooosh! Just like that! You can filter your list of Pokémon by all sorts of conditions, including things like their types, their main color, or even shape! Want to know what my type is? Why, I'm the having-a-ball type! The Y Button lets you change up the order that your Pokémon are sorted in! Sure, you've got your familiar old Pokédex-number order... But how about sorting by height or by weight? It's good to turn things on their head sometimes and look at 'em from a whole new angle!"
"This here is the details screen, where you'll find all the spiffy key details about your Pokémon crammed into one place! Get started off by choosing a Pokémon from the list on the right! If you want to learn even more about your Pokémon, give your ZL or ZR Buttons a friendly tap, won't you? You'll be able to see their Pokédex entries from different games you've found 'em in. It's super nifty! And if you've got Pokémon that you've registered in more than one form, you can use those handy L and R Buttons to flip between their forms! Did you know that sometimes forms have different Pokédex entries, too? Be sure you give 'em all a good look! And you've got the Y Button there to help you check which games that Pokémon appears in. That means you might be able to get the Pokémon in those games!"
"Research Tasks might seem a bit taxing, but they're really rewarding! They're requests that come from Grand Oak, see, and what could be better than helping out the grand old gent himself? If you've got save data on your Nintendo Switch from a region that Grand Oak wants to research, then you'll see task lists start popping up for each region on this screen! But consider this your warning, pal! To complete a task, you've got to get the Pokémon Grand Oak is interested in seeing AND get it in that same region as the task belongs to. He's a bit of a stickler like that!"
"On the right side of this screen, you've got your list of Research Tasks. All you've got to do to complete a Research Task is get your hands on the necessary Pokémon! I bet you're a catching pro, aren't you? But there are still a few little tricks to these tasks! Even if you get your hands on the right Pokémon species, it won't count if it's from the wrong game or in the wrong form! Be sure you check carefully where your Pokémon were caught! But if you do manage to get the right Pokémon that meet every condition, then all you have to do is bring 'em to your Pokémon HOME Boxes and you'll find your tasks automatically get marked off as complete! You don't even have to lift a finger! And once a task is done, it's done for good. It won't be affected if you take the Pokémon you used to fulfill a task out of Pokémon HOME or if you decide to let 'em go. No one can take this accomplishment away from you, champ!"
"Welcome to the Notebook menu! This is where you can check how you've been using Pokémon HOME. Select an option, and then give me a nudge if you want more details on what you can do!"
"On the History screen, you can check the results of past Box connections! If there's an entry that you'd like to know more about, just scroll to it and press the A Button! You'll be taken to a separate page with more information on the Pokémon you deposited or withdrew! Keep in mind, though, only 300 entries will be saved as records, even if you deposit or withdraw a whole bunch of Pokémon during one connection! Older entries will be automatically removed! Just so you know, you can check moving records from Pokémon Bank and Pokémon you received on your mobile device here, too. And guess what? You can also see how many Pokémon HOME Points you've used!"
"Oh boy! This is the detailed records screen! You can check which Pokémon came to Pokémon HOME and which ones left in each of your history entries! Scroll through the pages by pressing the L Button or R Button!"
"On the Records screen, you'll be able to check all sorts of different statistics that have been neatly counted up for you! Golly, that's helpful! If you look through the numbers, you might discover something interesting about how you've been using Pokémon HOME!"
"Bringing Pokémon over from Pokémon Bank on Nintendo 3DS systems is called moving! Choose Begin Move and enter the Moving Key in Pokémon Bank to move your Pokémon over to Pokémon HOME! A Moving Key is only valid for a little while, so make sure to enter it before time runs out! What's more, while the key is being displayed, you can't use the other features of Pokémon HOME! Golly! Neat-o! This is a fun tidbit! When you move Pokémon from Pokémon Bank, the Pokédex data from Pokémon Bank is carried over, too! Well, gee whiz! If there's anything you don't understand about moving or if you don't have your Nintendo 3DS with you, try checking out the Pokémon HOME official website!"
"Pokémon HOME Points are the points you can get little by little every day if you have Pokémon in Pokémon HOME Boxes. Pretty neat-o, right? The more Pokémon you have in the Boxes, the more points you can get! The points you got can be converted to BP and SENT to a game! (Though there are some games that aren't compatible for that...)" (prior to v2.0.0)
"Pokémon HOME Points are the points you can get little by little every day if you have Pokémon in Pokémon HOME Boxes. Pretty neat-o, right? The more Pokémon you have in the Boxes, the more points you can get! You can use the points you got in other games too! How? Easy! Just convert 'em to the kinds of points that game uses, and send 'em over! (Though there are some games that aren't compatible...)" (v2.0.0 onward)
"You can send BP to one of your games here! Choose the amount you want to send by moving the Left Stick up and down. Then choose OK to send that BP on its way! Hooray!"
"You can send MP to one of your game files here! Choose the amount you want to send by moving the Left Stick up and down, then select OK to send that MP on its way! Hooray!" (v2.0.0 onward)
"Welcome to the Options menu! You can change the language Pokémon HOME uses, as well as the volume of its music and sound effects. This is also where you can check what plan you have! But if you want to see how long your Premium Plan is valid for, you can't do that here... You'll need to check the store where you signed up! Also, if you ever run into trouble and need to contact customer support, you'll need the Support ID shown here!"

  • Trade screen
"You can trade Pokémon in all KINDS of ways in Pokémon HOME! Deposit your Pokémon in the Wonder Box and give the OK to send it out to be traded! Boy, it sure is fun waiting for a Pokémon to be traded with someone else's from anywhere in the world! The GTS should be your choice if you want to trade for a specific Pokémon with other users around the world! I'd suggest creating a Room Trade when you'd like to trade Pokémon with a group of users that you know! Oh yeah! Friend Trades are handy for when you'd like to trade with Trainers you know who are on your Friend List. You should try them out sometime!"
  • Pokémon screen
"On this screen, you can easily view lineup of all the Pokémon you've sent to Pokémon HOME! Tap on a Pokémon, and you'll be able to see all kinds of different nifty information about it! Wow! By the way, you can set different search settings to filter and find Pokémon faster. You should give it a try sometime!"

  • Pokédex screen (Games tab)
"These are the Pokédexes of the different games! Here, you can check out the Pokédexes of all the different games that can link to Pokémon HOME, including the main Pokémon series! Isn't that cool? If you want to register a Pokémon to one of the Pokédexes here, just catch that Pokémon in the game with the dex you're interested in, and move it to Pokémon HOME! A Pokémon won't be registered to a game's Pokédex unless they're caught in that game, so just watch out for that! I hope you catch and trade a ton of Pokémon so that you can complete every game's Pokédex!"

Trivia

  • Although Poké Boy claims that the Pokédex shows entries from games that the player has found each Pokémon in, this is not entirely true, as it actually shows all the available entries for any Pokémon that has been registered regardless of their game of origin.
