This card was included in the Black & White expansion with artwork by 5ban Graphics, first released in the Japanese Black Collection. It was later released as one of the BW Black Star Promos with new, English-exclusive artwork by 5ban Graphics in March 2011 as one of three cards available in the Evolved Battle Action Tins. It was also included in the Next Destinies expansion, originating from the Japanese Hail Blizzard expansion, as an Ultra-Rare Secret card with new artwork by the same artist. The original print was later reprinted in Japan as part of the Master Deck Build Box EX, released on September 14th, 2012. It was reprinted again with different artwork by Kanako Eo in the Legendary Treasures expansion, originating from the Japanese EX Battle Boost.
The Legendary Treasures print is one of numerous cards to feature an illustration that is part of a narrative. Following on from the scene on the Pignite card, the family Tepig has fully evolved. On the left, the son has started a family of his own, while the aging husband and wife sit beside their daughter on the right.
Heat Crash is a move in the Pokémon games that Emboar can learn. This card's Tinsel Holofoil prints's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Black. The Next Destinies print features the Shiny version of Emboar.
