Release information

This card was included in the Burning Shadows expansion with artwork by Kagemaru Himeno, first released in the Japanese To Have Seen the Battle Rainbow expansion. It was reprinted as one of the Japanese SM-P Promotional cards with new artwork by Masakazu Fukuda, made available in the Charmander Special Set from June 16, 2017, which could be purchased at Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, and other participating store chains, including: 7-Eleven, Circle K Sunkus, Daily Yamazaki, FamilyMart, Ministop, and Lawson. The Burning Shadows print was reprinted in Japan as another SM-P Promotional card, available as part of the Midsummer's Pika Pika Alola Festival, which ran from July 22 to September 3, 2017. Customers at participating Pokémon Centers (including the Pokémon Center Online) and Pokémon Stores who purchased five booster packs in one transaction were given 1 of 6 possible promotional cards. This print features the Pokémon Center logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

The Charizard-GX Premium Collection included a Water Web Holofoil variant of the Burning Shadows print. The Burning Shadows print was reprinted in the Japanese Fire Charizard-GX Deck. The Burning Shadows print was reprinted again in the French McDonald's Collection 2018 as both a Non Holofoil and a Reverse Confetti Holofoil. The SM-P Promotional print saw an English release as a Cosmos Holo Yellow A Alternate card, included in the Charmander Sidekick Collection released December 15, 2018. A Sequin Holo variant was later one of the cards available in the General Mills Let's Go, Kanto! Mini Packs starting January 15, 2019.

The Charizard Deck of the Battle Academy 2020 deck kit contained four copies of the Burning Shadows print. Each card within the deck has a silhouette of Charizard and a number in the bottom right of the card. The four Charmander cards are numbered 1, 16, 42, and 56. The Burning Shadows print was later reprinted in the McDonald's Collection 2021 as a Non Holo and a Confetti Holo. This print has the Pokémon 25th Anniversary logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
