This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil XY Black Star Promotional card in the Ancient Origins Single Pack Blisters. In Japan, it was one of the XY-P Promotional cards made available in a twelve card promotional pack available to those who participated in the Pokémon Card Gym tournaments from the month of October 2014 through the month of November 2014.

Trivia

The only Chansey cards available were rotated in the 2016-17 Standard format, making this an orphaned card during the format until a Chansey got printed in Evolutions.
