Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Chiefboz!

Here are a few links to help you get started:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format of all pages on Bulbapedia.

Our friendly team of staff are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with Bulbapedia.

On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), or by using the "Your signature with a timestamp" (button_sig.png) button at the top of the edit window.

On Bulbapedia, the ability to edit personal userpages is a privilege. Per our userpage policy, this must be earned by first making constructive edits to the mainspace. Once you can, remember to keep userspace edits (edits to User:Chiefboz) to a minimum.

For a complete list of policies and editing advice, please see the Welcome Portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Grammar

New sentences are only separated by one space, not two, so could you please only separate them with one space? Its hard going around trying to fix these, and when I tried to on your Ranger 2 walkthrough writing, I got conflicted. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 17:02, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

OK, I'll work on that. Thanks for pointing that out. --Chiefboz 18:10, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Your welcome. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 21:23, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

PREVIEW

There is this option called the preview button. Editing any page excessively is bad: it clutters the recent changes and the page's history. The preview button is there to prevent multiple edits. You should be editing the whole Battle frontier page and do all your fixes in ONE edit, instead of what you are doing now. MaverickNate 22:22, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me. I'll be sure to work on that. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 22:24, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Leader of Project Walkthrough

I nominated you as material for the leader. Tell me if you disseagree.Loghomewill 03:02, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Loghomewill! I look forward to seeing how it goes! And I don't disagree with you at all here. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 13:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Geez, the Admins jumped on me for doing this, so unfortunaly I can't nominate you anymore. Sorry... Can we be friends? Loghomewill 00:18, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
No sweat! That's totally fine if I'm not nominated anymore (or if someone else would've been picked). So if you're wondering whether I'll forgive you or not, then yes I will. And thanks for noticing my work - I really appreciate that. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 03:01, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for forgiving me. Loghomewill 22:37, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Your team subpage

I noticed it's similar to TTEchidna's team template on his page. Now according to the userspace policy, "If you see that someone has something snazzy on their userpage (for example a talk page HP bar, random Pokémon generator or customized party template), then you need to ask their permission before using it on your own userpage." and you haven't asked TTE for permission. Because of this, I suggest you remove it or it falls under an admin's discretion to remove it as it violates this rule. Thank you. --Psyライダー 00:28, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Oh, whoops. I'll ask him. Thanks. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 00:32, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Platinum

I know that Platinum isn't the best game anymore, but I'm working on the walkthrough of it just in case the odd man out wants to know anything. I noticed that you have played it and wondered if you could lend a hand on it. The link is here. Thanks. Loghomewill 00:05, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Sure! What do you want help on? I'd be glad to help out. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 01:36, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Maybe you could write down important people or places on the route/routes? Dunno, any help would be appreciated, as long as it's true. Loghomewill 18:41, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Lightning Badge

It's acually called the Thunder Badge. Try that and you might get more luck with the picture. Loghomewill 02:07, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me. (I already knew that the name was wrong, as my team template for HeartGold is not working so well). I'll fix it if/when I have time in the near future. Chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 02:43, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Your "Work" Template

Hey Chiefboz,

I decided to drop you a line and ask you a question. I have been playing around with your template, and I figured out a way to get it to link to the categories that need fixing, like Jello said on the talkpage for it. With your permission, I would like to save it to the original template (which is in your userspace, hence my asking permission). Let me know if you are cool with me doing that. Thanks, TTYL. --JediKnightDTV 02:24, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

That would be great! (Did Jello put something on its talk page without me getting alerted? Interesting.) If you do that, though, can you please have the words all be in whatever color parameter 2 is, so like {{color|{{{{{2|white}}} color light}}|Category name}}, so that it stays consistent with the template? Thanks! And-yes-I give you official permission to edit the template. Just make sure you say I said you could do it in your edit summary, and remember it counts towards your userspace editing limit. Have fun with it! chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 05:28, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
To answer your parenthesised question, you only get the "You have new message(s)" alert when someone edits your main talk page. Edits to subpages don't trigger the alert, so it's probably a good idea to make sure they are on your watchlist. Werdnae (talk) 05:49, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
There you go. Actually, I changed the default colors to Steel Color Dark and Steel Color Light, as they are links now, so when you have not visited them, they are blue, and when you have visited them, they are purple (as all links are), and I found that to be easier on the eyes (when trying to read it I mean). I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a way to change that (I think it is just default on most computers), or if there is, feel free to change it. And if you want the original template to be some other color, feel free to change it back, and I can always just create my own version of it in my userspace with the colors that I want. As far as not getting notified when the talkpage for it got changed, yeah, what Werdnae said. I would avoid letting your watchlist get too big if you do that however*. I personally just watch all of my pages that I created myself, that way, if someone vandalizes my pages, I can know about it as soon as I check my email (which for me, is as soon as I turn on my computer). Oh, and BTW, you are welcome :). --JediKnightDTV 06:10, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Or you could set it so that you don't get emails for pages on your watchlist. You can still check it manually, but it doesn't spam your email. Werdnae (talk) 06:57, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Sweet! Thanks! I noticed that the color scheme settings were a bit off, so I'll quickly fix them and make sure that they're all nice and pretty. So expect some change in the template if you're using it. I think that users will be sure to enjoy having the categories linked to the template, as then they can see exactly what articles need to be worked on - especially for the Christmas drive 2010! WOO HOO!
And Werdnae- thanks for the advice. I've got it under control. chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 16:29, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey Chief, I just wanted to ask you a question. Would you mind terribly if I "borrowed" the code for this thing and created my own version in my userspace? I will, of course, credit you as the author of the code. The reason why is that I spent a completely unproductive couple of hours the other night trying to figure out why the thing kept getting messed up when I tried to put it into my CharInfoBox, as that is where I want to put it. I finally went through the code with a fine tooth comb and figured it out, it is because you set it to "align=left" at the top, rather than center, which is what it needs to be in order to go into my CharInfoBox. Anyway, after I headdesked for a while over wasting so much time over not catching something so small and stupid, I thought I would come and ask you. TTYL. --JediKnightDTV 00:51, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
I actually just went in and tweaked it for you, so there should be no need for you to have to make your own version*. After the colors, add align=center as another parameter and it should work out nicely and realign itself. Make sure, though, that you get the colors to work out nicely and hit preview - those had to get tweaked a bit when I adjusted the alignment stuff. Enjoy! chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 02:35, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay, it's up. I had to go back into the template and make another small tweak, just to let you know. I had to make the width adjustable, so that it would fill the CharInfoBox, rather than only 30% of it. Hope that is okay. Anyway, thanks again, Chief. TTYL. --JediKnightDTV 14:44, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than three edits per day. This policy was instated to prevent strain on our server, and also to promote people helping out in the mainspace. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! --P S Yライダー 01:19, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Whoops! Sorry, I let myself get carried away there. I'll leave it alone for a while. chiefboz (my talk and contributions) 01:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Your signature

If you haven't fixed it yet, you should remove the # from before the "red" and the "blue" in your signature. That way it will display the appropriate colors. —darklordtrom 10:50, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Will fix that. I can do it right now. chiefboztalk 01:31, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Done. It actually was <span style="color:#red;">talk</span> and such, which I can see why it would display as #red or something. chiefboztalk 01:41, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Your header

I just wanted you to know, in your Header, I changer eents to events. I hope that was okay. Gliscorguy54 21:59, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Okay, two things. (1) that goes in its own heading, not under "Your signature". I moved it around for the page, but in the future, hit the plus at the top of the page if you want to start a new topic, and (2) that's ok by me this time, but please try not to do it too much anymore. The admins definitely do not like it when you edit other users' pages without asking them first, and also typos (like me forgetting to type a V) don't really need to be fixed (some of us prefer them). Thanks for doing it, though — the pages will actually make sense now! chiefboztalk 22:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Your welcome

Hey dude. Would you mind using the official welcome template? The one you've been using recently is a huge wall of text. We're trying to move away from messages like that, as they are overwhelming. If you think something really important is missing on the welcome, feel free to bring it up on Template talk:Welcome. Cheers. —darklordtrom 09:35, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Not a problem, Trom! (Seems like someone deleted it already.) chiefboztalk 22:25, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
