The Electabuzz team is a baseball team based in Johto that was frequently mentioned during the original series. It's the team that Casey and his family are passionate fans of.
History
Pre-series
In Those Darn Electabuzz!, It is hinted that the Electabuzz team has a long history in the Johto region, going back to Shigeo mentioning seeing the team play at the age of ten. The team has built up a long rivalry with the likes of Magikarps and the Starmies, with whom it has had numerous matches over the years.
Years later, Shigeo's son Corey Demario joined the team, his history with the team saw Electabuzz win the championship five years in a row. At some point in his career, Corey suffered an injury, which ended up forcing him out of the team and in turn hurt his confidence and the performance of Electabuzz.
Original series
In The Double Trouble Header, it is mentioned by Ash that the team had been going through a bad phase with consecutive defeats.
Pokémon Chronicles
In A Date With Delcatty, it was revealed that the Electabuzz team would be playing against their archrivals, the Starmies in Cerulean City.

Trivia
- The baseball teams all seem to be representations of real-life Japanese baseball teams, with the Electabuzz based on the Osaka Hanshin Tigers team, and the teams with Magikarp and Starmie logos representing Hiroshima Toyo Carp and the Yokohama BayStars, respectively.
