Gen 8 or 9

So the Global Beta for Live only concluded with the release of Paldea Evolved. You know, the set that is connected to a game of Generation 9. (Currently, this game is treated as a Gen 8 release.) When placing this game with a generation, does the beta release count or not count? Does the answer change because of how widespread the beta was? If it was more of a soft launch fully restricted to one country until the full release, does that change the answer?Salmancer (talk) 14:54, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
