My name (at least as far as you should know) is Yami Takashi. I enjoy Pokémon and over the decade or so I have enjoyed them I have gather a great deal of knowledge.

I am able to see patterns most people might miss, and can get something before the show usually gets to it. kind of like when you use to watch a new (or new to you) episode of Scooby Doo and tried to find out who was under the mask before they knew or revealed it.

Patterns i have noticed:

Ash caught 1 of each of the starter Pokémon for the first two generations.

before the end of a generation there is usually a starter Pokémon or an evolved form of a starter Pokémon in Ash and co's team.

Gen 1: Bulbasaur, Charmander+, Squirtle

Gen 2: Chikorita+. Cyndaquil, Totodile

Gen 3: Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip

Gen 4: Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup

Also each generation list the grass starters first, then fire then water.

I also noticed before many others that Torchic did not have an active flame as part of its anatomy like the other Starters. I added that bit to wikipedia but some idiot removed it and wanted me to source/reference something you can see as plain as day.

Combusken Also has no active flame as a part of its anatomy.

Another pattern i've noticed is that one starter Pokémon is always on all fours and the others can do both.

Until Mudkip it had always been the Grass type Starter but with Turtwig they started it back.
