Now that we have the VS sprites for HGSS... should we have only Lucas and Dawn fight the Sinnoh elites, and Gold and Kotone fight the Johto ones? TTEchidna 02:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Done and done.--MisterE13 01:25, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

I added the Black and White sprites, but something's gone wrong. Does anyone know how to fix it? Jlin8002 00:47, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

What do you mean exactly? It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 00:48, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, I lined them up like the Sinnoh and Johto sprites, but the sprites don't match like they used to, and now it's all messed up starting from today, with Dawn VS Giima. Jlin8002 00:55, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Could be suffering jet lag from traveling a Generation. In all seriousness though, do you mean not matching up in that they don't face the center or doesn't generationally match up, because then Lucas VS Flint tomorrow would be okay? It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 00:57, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Basically they don't generationally match up because yesterday it was working out fine but today i'm not so sure. even though it says tommorrow's going to be Lucas VS Flint, maybe we should check just to be sure. Jlin8002 01:03, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
That may be the switch factor kicking in. I'm pretty sure the numbers are randomly generated each day, causing a random match up with one of the sets. Just because the numbers are generationally matched up doesn't mean the template will put it like that. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 01:05, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
If it isn't fixed now, let me know and I'll try something else. —darklordtrom 02:27, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Battle Frontier

...Why are Battle Frontier related articles included in the template? The BF has no relation with any Pokémon League. - Ericss 10:55, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

No idea. I made this a while ago when I noticed the same thing. Problem is, I also want to separate the individual facilities from the frontier articles, and without doing so the template is fairly pointless. --SnorlaxMonster 11:29, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Orange Archipelago location

I thought that the Orange Archipelago/Orange Islands should be added in the "Pokémon League Locations" section, seeing as that particular series of islands serves as the location that houses the Pokémon anime's Orange League. Fenyx4 (talk) 16:52, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Added the appropriate link myself to the template...it took me some time until I realized that I could edit the template myself, so this matter seems to be resolved. Fenyx4 (talk) 19:48, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Inclusion of Pokémon World Tournament?

Would a link to the Pokémon World Tournament article (or maybe its respective template) qualify for inclusion on this template...maybe in the "Championship matches" section (albeit a different type of "champion" is crowned compared to League Champions)? The PWT is run by a member of the Pokémon League and its participants are comprised of a large majority of the members of the Pokémon League itself... Fenyx4 (talk) 17:01, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Added the PWT article's link to the template. Fenyx4 (talk) 19:48, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Recent Additions

To elaborate a little, I added Hall of Fame as it is a record kept by the Pokémon League, added Cerulean Cave since the Pokémon League is in charge of that location, and added the Pokémon World Tournament since a Gym Leader created it and several current and former League members participate in the event/facility's activities. If we're going to include "Areas of Jurisdiction", should we include the Victory Roads? How about the Pokémon League Reception Gate and Mt. Silver? - Chosen of Mana 23:04, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
I think the Pokémon League Reception Gate should definitely be added, as not satisfying the checkpoint there (at least in FireRed/LeafGreen, and I imagine the Generation 1 games apply as well) prevents travelers from accessing an entire route, let alone Victory Road (Kanto) and the Indigo Plateau itself. As for the Victory Roads, my skimming of the applicable articles leads me to say that the Victory Roads of Kanto/Johto and the 2 Unova Victory Roads (initial variant in BW, and then the "2 years later" variant in B2W2) should be added as well, since Badge checkpoints are situated prior to or within those particular Victory Roads, from what I've read (meaning that you need the regional League's Badges in order to traverse further along those paths). I haven't played DPPt yet and the current Sinnoh Victory Road article wasn't really clear about how the Badge checkpoints are handled (in my opinion), so I'm unsure on whether Sinnoh's Victory Road merits inclusion.
As for Hoenn's Victory Road, the problem is that the Badge checkpoint is inside the Hoenn League's headquarters (located at the end/northernmost point of Hoenn Victory Road), so Victory Road in Hoenn can theoretically be passed without obtaining Badges. However, in practice, the game(s)/HMs require that you possess 7 of Hoenn's 8 Badges (Feather Badge, which permits field/overworld usage of Fly, is the only one that isn't required since it's only checked at the Hoenn Badge checkpoint and Fly isn't needed for Hoenn Victory Road navigation) so that you can use the HM moves to navigate Hoenn's Victory Road properly. I'm a bit on the fence (as the Badge requirements are implicitly instituted due to the HMs), but I'm more inclined to include Hoenn Victory Road within League jurisdiction since you need most of the Badges anyway to get there in the first place, and it serves as the main entryway to the Hoenn League headquarters.
I haven't played GSC or HGSS yet, so I can't say much about whether Mt. Silver is under League jurisdiction... Its article says that Professor Oak permits access here once you get 16 Badges, although I can't tell whether he does it by coincidence (as in, he doesn't mention anything about you having 16 Badges when you're granted Mt. Silver access) or specifically because you've fulfilled the 16-Badge requirement... However, Professor Oak seems to be affiliated with the Pokémon League in some capacity (since he inducts you into the Hall of Fame in Generations 1 and 3, and he has to pass by Kanto's Elite 4 and Champion to do so), so I don't have an issue with including Mt. Silver either. It would be nice to see other opinions on the matter, though. Fenyx4 (talk) 00:55, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Should the Battle Frontier be in the League template?

This has been asked before (above), with no evidence found backing up its inclusion. Additionally, its inclusion - or Hoenn's, at least - is at odds with an NPC's dialogue: "My grand ambition is to conquer both the BATTLE FRONTIER and the POKéMON LEAGUE [...]" (he's near the Frontier Ranking Hall, by the way). I'm not knowledgeable about the anime, manga, or other derivative media to attempt an edit, but any evidence for Frontier inclusion should probably be included in the League article.
