001Bulbasaur RG.png Due to special coding in place in the article, the artwork featured on this article will change every year on February 27 and September 30 in celebration of the releases of Red and Green in Japan, and Red and Blue in the United States. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox. This changes every year, so when the time comes, here to return to the page and change the display.

Annoying

Sometimes this Pokémon can be annoying because of it's appearance.

Well it does appear on every water route. TTEchidna 00:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Since it's locked...

..., I'll just dump this here (since the current list is incomplete in both Johto and Kanto-wise).

HG Johto-side locations: Routes 32, 34, 40, 41 and 47, Olivine City, Whirl Islands, Ecruteak City, Union Cave, Cherrygrove City, New Bark Town.

Please add them in (and do this for Magikarp too). UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 17:44, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Moveset

Tentacool can learn cut but it's not listed on the Gen IV TM/HM moveset. Smythe 18:35, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Confirmed: I'll do it. ht14 18:43, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Eyes?

The description of Tentacool says it has "...two large, transparent, crystal-like red eyes on each side of its body, and one small one in the middle..." and that it "...shoots beams from its crystal-like eyes..."

Aren't its eyes those two white things (with the black pupils) on its lower body...? I think those crystals are just, well, crystals. ShinyAeon 14:45, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Various Dex entries talk about shooting beams from their clear/crystal-like/transparent eyes. I'm not exactly sure what to say about the two white eyes, though. R.A. Hunter Blade 16:07, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
This isn't too old to comment on, is it? I wanted to say that I don't think the Pokédex is referring to the red crystals on its head. It just says it's eyes are "crystal-like", but it never mentions them being red of large or even having more than two. I think the Pokédex is referring to its white eyes. Which, if I remember correctly, is where the beams come from in the anime. I may be remembering wrong though, its been a long time. Anyway, I wanted to ask about this because I was going to change it when I added the body style link, but then I noticed the Pokédex and this conversation. Thanks! The beams come from the small red crystal in the middle of its "forehead" but those white things are definitely their eyes. Last I watched Tentacool and Tentacruel, the white areas had the trademark swirls when a Pokémon is knocked out in the anime, not the red areas on top. Also their pupils moved. I'm clear to go ahead and change it, then? Crystal Talian 04:44, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't personally see why not. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 04:47, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
