Why isn't this page titled "Ogerpon (game)"?

Basically every time we have a game-specific Pokémon page, we would always use "<Pokémon name> (game)", for consistency and so that we can use the "Template:Ga" template for easy access. Look at our Koraidon and Miraidon pages for example. So i wonder why it isn't the same for this page. My guess is that the precedent was set by the Calyrex (Galar) page, but then... why was that page titled "Calyrex (Galar)"? It's not like there are any other known Calyrex in other regions.

I think both this page and the "Calyrex (Galar)" page should be moved to "Ogerpon (game)" and "Calyrex (game)", respectively. I would like to know others' thoughts first, though. Anzasquiddles 2222(:D)SSSS (talk page) 15:20, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Support. It's not like Necrozma (game) is titled Necrozma (Alola). If there is another notable Ogerpon in another region in the future, we can change it then. Meeper12346 (talk) 16:45, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Ogerpon should be referred with female pronouns

I think it’s just ridiculous how people insist otherwise since plenty of other specific Pokémon with confirmed genders are referred to with either male or female pronouns like Ash’s Pikachu for example and even some who are technically genderless but are still referred to with septic pronouns like Magearna for example. Besides specific Pokémon who can only be one gender aren’t referred to by it anyway like Gallade for example. So personally I think we should just refer to Ogerpon as female for those reasons and stop saying that shouldn’t be done just because the characters in game refer to her as an it. So please listen to me everybody ~~TurtwigFan4848~~ - unsigned comment from TurtwigFan4848 (talkcontribs)

Typing four tildes (~) will automatically fill in all that information, so it's the recommended method for signing comments. Storm Aurora (talk) 06:44, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
You mention Ash's Pikachu, Magearna, and Gallade, are all three of these anime examples? Ogerpon is a game character so we should probably primarily consider how other individual Pokémon are referred to in-game. Minibug (talk) 13:00, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
Well Red’s Pikachu for example is referred as male several times on his page for example and he is a Pokémon from a game, so that should be more proof of what I am saying TurtwigFan4848 (talk) 08:32, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
Red's Pikachu has a confirmed gender, but is not referred to directly in in-game dialogue. So we can use male pronouns. This individual Ogerpon also has a confirmed gender due to the species being female-only, but the characters refer to it with gender neutral pronouns in in-game dialogue. If there weren't so many examples where they specifically refer to it as "they", we'd be referring to it as "she" too. However since the games use "they", we should follow that too. → PikaTepig999 18:35, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Why “Ogerpon (scarlet and violet character)”?

there isn't any other ogerpons and none of the other characters have it like that, so I'm not sure why someone added that Handium (talk) 23:07, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

There are a number of pages about specific Pokémon with (game) in the title: Arceus (game), Calyrex (game), Koraidon (game), Miraidon (game), Necrozma (game), Ogerpon (game), Pecharunt (game), Terapagos (game), and Red's Pikachu (game), not to mention Partner Pokémon (game).
Arguably, those Pokémon pages have some problems:
  • The page titles like "Arceus (game)" might suggest that the articles are about a general explanation of each species in the context of the games, such as the moveset, base stats, event distributions, Pokédex entries, Pokéathlon stats, and so on, but instead they are about specific characters of each species.
  • Alternatively, maybe the page title "Arceus (game)" could be pointing to Pokémon Legends: Arceus instead, since (game) could mean a game title instead of a Pokémon species or a certain character. Most of the page titles mentioned don't have that problem: as we know, there's no game titled "Pokémon Legends: Ogerpon", or else the page title "Ogerpon (game)" might be better suited as a redirect to that game as well.
  • Those pages titles specifically include (game), but the same characters sometimes appear in the anime and manga too. Calyrex (game) has the word (game) in the title, but it also appears in the manga. Should the title be "Calyrex (game and manga)" instead? Necrozma (game) also has that word in the title, but it appears in the Pokémon Evolutions anime too.
The page Ogerpon (game) was mentioned in the discussion Bulbapedia talk:Editor's Hub#About the page titles like Red (game), Blue (game), etc.. However, this discussion has been mostly about human characters with (game) in the title like Juliana (game), not about Pokémon. The Pokémon pages probably need to be discussed separately. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 01:29, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
thank you, I didn't know the reason why it had a move suggestion and it does makes more sense now after reading it Handium (talk) 13:31, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
No problem. :) --Daniel Carrero (talk) 14:07, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
Why don't we refer to it as Ogerpon (character) instead--Lewtwo (talk) 11:07, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Yes, since we only have the page for a single Ogerpon character, then "Ogerpon (character)" seems to be the best option.
The suggested title "Ogerpon (Scarlet and Violet character)" kind of implies that there might be more pages for other Ogerpon characters. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 12:13, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
