Failure

I think I remember some Hariyama in Victory Road (Hoenn) Belly Drumming themselves to death. Can anyone check whether this move has alternate effects throughout the generations? I might be wrong though. --Enervation 16:53, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

HP.

Using it in Gen III (tested in Ruby) with a Pokémon that has an odd HP decreases it to even (84 out of 167) number, while in the animation in Gen V it decreased to odd number (87 out of 173)... what the hell? Marked +-+-+ 16:30, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

The move deducts half of the user's maximum HP, rounded down. If the maximum HP mod 4 is 0 or 3, the remaining HP from full health is even. If the maximum HP mod 4 is 1 or 2, the remaining HP from full health is odd.

Add to trivia?

Not all Pokemon that can learn this have big bellies. The 2 in question also may not be able to reach their bellies, and as Poliwag does not have arms, he might not be able to Belly Drum. ♥Sartharis, God of Twilight 01:41, 28 February 2012 (UTC)♥

Contrary

Does Belly Drum work with Contrary or not? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 13:48, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

I imagine it would. Considering Contrary inverses all stat changes gained or lost; the pokemon's attack stat would instead be minimized if it were under the effect of Contrary. Venus253 17:34, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

A burned Pokemon

By maximizing attack, would Belly Drum remove the attack drop of a burn? Tk3141 15:04, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Obviously not, since Burn's Attack drop isn't related to regular stat changes, which have an animation in the battle and are from -6 to +6.--Den Zen 15:11, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
However, had the move existed in Generation I, it would have removed the attack drop in that generation. Bwburke94 (talk) 02:16, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
