Lenora debuted in A Night in the Nacrene City Museum!, where she was revealed to have shut her Gym. Later, inside the museum, when a Yamask possessed Cilan, she appeared and used her Watchog's Illuminate to show the presence of Yamask and returned Cilan to normal. She told them that Yamask had been taken with the exhibit without it knowing and had accidentally dropped its mask. In the end, Lenora—along with Ash, Iris, Cilan, and Hawes—released Yamask into the world.

She quickly realized that Yamask had been carried inside along with a new exhibit without it knowing and had accidentally dropped its mask. In the end, Lenora—along with Ash, Iris, Cilan, and Hawes—released Yamask into the world.

Character
Lenora is confident and believes that knowledge is critical to being a good Trainer. Her kind personality disguises her covert tactician skills. She enjoys testing her opponents' abilities on and off the battlefield, and deliberately provides useful hints as she talks. In The Battle According to Lenora!, she guided Ash through to her hidden library and supplied him with a book recommendation, like she does for all challengers, as a test to see what kind of Trainer he was. Ash gave it some thought and took up Lenora's suggestion, not only revealing the hidden away Nacrene Gym but also a personality she can pester. Lenora explained that most Trainers were completely unaware of the test, and often chose books they were interested in or could read through quickly.
When it comes to the battle, Lenora's Gym rules are unique in that both the challenger and Gym Leader can substitute Pokémon. She is renowned for taking control of the match, often using her Lillipup and Herdier's Roar to force a challenger's other Pokémon to come out onto the field. She then switches to her Watchog and has it use Mean Look to prevent a challenger from substituting their Pokémon. Speed is also key to her strategy, often blindsiding an opponent with the rapid pace of the match. Her Normal speciality offers her great flexibility in moveset and battle style, making her a rather unpredictable opponent.

In The Battle According to Lenora!, it was sent out to battle Ash's Oshawott, first using Mean Look to prevent it from returning to its Poké Ball. While Oshawott was initially able to withstand its Thunderbolt with its scalchop, Watchog quickly separated Oshawott and its scalchop, allowing it to defeat Oshawott with its Electric attack.

Watchog reappeared during Ash and Lenora's rematch in Rematch at the Nacrene Gym!. Like before, it used Mean Look to trap Oshawott, then used Confuse Ray. However, in spite of its confusion, Oshawott was able to knock Watchog out with its newly learned Aqua Jet, knocking itself out in the process.

|desc=Lenora's Lillipup debuted in The Battle According to Lenora!, where it battled Ash's Tepig. When it was first sent out, both Iris and Ash were drawn to its cuteness. Despite its cute appearance, however, it was shown to be fierce in battle, to Iris's dismay. In its battle with Ash, it used Roar to send Tepig back, forcing Oshawott to come out. It was then called back to its Ball. Later on, it was sent back out when Watchog defeated Oshawott. It was able to easily beat Ash's Tepig with a powerful Take Down, causing Ash to lose the battle to Lenora.
