Welcome to Bulbapedia, Pokemonhealer!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules that you should be aware of:

  • Being nice to people is a good thing. The code of conduct says so. You should at least skim it so you know what not to do.
  • The preview button is your best friend when editing. I've been reminded to use it time and time again by the admins, so try to remember to use it whenever possible. It'll show you what's going to happen when you hit save.
  • Whenever you can, try to use wikicode and link templates. The language is very easy to pick up, and it'll seem like you've become fluent in it in no time.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style. Otherwise, reading your contributions might be a bit difficult. Most computers have an automatic spell checker that checks major things, but small things might not get those annoying red underlines. Still, before you hit save, you should at least make sure what you're adding actually makes sense. If you don't know how to word something, you can use this to get our attention and have other users help out.
  • Most users have these wonderful things called userpages. You have one, too. Yours is right here, but until you add to the main namespace (or "mainspace"), you can't do anything to it. When you do earn the privilege of your userpage, don't abuse it, as the admins don't like it.
  • Sometimes, article content is disputed. If this happens to one of your edits or you're just interested, talk about it on the talk pages. Whatever you do, don't constantly re-edit and re-undo stuff, as that doesn't go along very well and could lead up to a ban, or worse, a block.
  • Need help with anything? Most users won't bite, including the staff. Be proactive. Ask for help as much as you need to, and you'll get it pretty quickly.
  • If you look at talk pages, there's usually a whole slew of signatures at the end of people's talk page posts. When you finish typing a talk page message, sign your post. It's easy—all you need to do is type four tildes (~~~~). You can change your signature, along with a bunch of other settings, here, but make sure that everything works out nicely with the signature policy.
  • There's a great welcome portal with more stuff, so you should check that out and read up on Bulbapedia policies.
  • You might not realize it, but everything you do is appreciated by the community. And that's not something that's really cliché, it's actually true. So whenever you get a chance, help out. Who knows? You might get yourself an award for your good work.
Last but not least, Have fun editing here, and Welcome to Bulbapedia!
