This template shows Mario's Giratina from Platinum.

Mario's Giratina is her favorite Pokemon, and it is present on her team in most games it exists in. It has a docile nature and its Hidden Power type is Ice, though it does not know Hidden Power.

Mario caught this Giratina in the Distortion World at Level 47 on Pokemon Platinum in a Master Ball. The day it was caught was August 12th 2014.

Achievements:

  • Mario beat Champion Cynthia with Giratina on August 12, 2014.
  • Mario has won over 15000 PvP battles total across all Pokemon games with Giratina.
  • Via an Action Replay to allow legendary Pokemon to do so, Mario beat the Battle Tower with Giratina in battle with Palmer.
  • Mario's Giratina has defeated several other Pokemon Leagues (Unova, Kalos, Hoenn [ORAS], Alola, Galar)
  • Mario's Giratina has won the Unova Leader's tournament in Pokemon Black 2 among other tournaments that allow Legendary Pokemon.
  • Giratina has also won the Battle Tree in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Moves Mario has ever had Giratina know (in no particular order):

  • Ominous Wind
  • Ancient Power
  • Dragon Claw
  • Shadow Force
  • Earth Power
  • Draco Meteor
  • Fly
  • Rock Climb
  • Aura Sphere
  • Hyper Beam
  • DragonBreath
  • Iron Tail
  • Shadow Sneak
  • Will-O-Wisp
  • Earthquake
  • Double Team
  • Giga Impact

Trivia:

  • Mario caught this Giratina on the day of the year when a major meteor shower happens in real life, being a meteor shower with over 50 meteors visible in a given location per hour.
  • Giratina is the only one of Mario's Pokemon which has known both Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
    • Despite this, it has never known them on the same moveset.
  • This Giratina described is not Mario's first Giratina even though it is her favorite. She caught a Giratina on Diamond on a date prior to the one described (June 22, 2014) but it didn't become her favorite.
  • Mario misuses her Giratina in terms of strategy as a pure offense Pokemon in Platinum; instead it should be a mixed role or defensive Pokemon competitively.
