Wow...I can't believe you seriously believe what WPM has said! I mean, do you believe everything you read on the internet?  Anyway, I know for a fact that WPM hears things from his so-called "sources" about what happened during the VA switch.  But, upon hearing the truth from people, he ''twists things around'' in order to assume what actually happened.  And half the time, WPM doesn't even have any solid evidence to back up what we (SOVA) has proved to be "false claims"  That's right, I'm saying most of the things WPM has said on his site about the original cast and the VAs are either ''rumors'' or ''lies''!  WPM has a history of trolling and flaming the SOVA thread on Bulbagarden.  But not only that, WPM's also caused many flamewars and arguments in the Anime forum on Bulbagarden.  If you don't believe me, you can search the forums or ask any mod/admin at Bulbagarden.  Anyway, I'm just saying, I wouldn't call his "sources" credible if I were you.  WPM's logic and reasoning about the VA switch is very flawed, and filled with many rumors, lies, and '''misconceptions''' about the original cast.

Anyway, as to why I'm saying all this - I'm trying to make it perfectly clear to you that what WPM said abot the original cast is '''NOT TRUE AT ALL'''!  It's obvious that WPM is clearly biased against the VAs, especially with all the bad things he's said about them on Bulbagarden - and he has even more hatred about 4Kids.  In fact, it looked to me like the reason WPM was saying all that stuff on his site was simply because he didn't want the dub to get into the "evil" hands of 4Kids again (like most fans at the time).  But you know what, even though it may have looked like the original VAs wanted to get the show back with 4Kids - that doesn't in any way mean that, all the VAs cared about was the freakin' money.  WPM was completely out of line when he made that claim, and so are you for believing his every word!  I'm sorry, but WPM was completely wrong about that!  The original VAs cared a lot about their roles and the characters they portrayed.  They were attached to the characters!  And that's a fact!!

Petition

People are signing a petition to get Sarah Natochenny fired and get Veronica Taylor to come play Ash again Livinlarge18 12:27, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I highly doubt it would work at this point in time. Maybe it would have gotten more support in April or September 2006, but by this time, there are plenty of people who have gotten used to the new voices. --Shiningpikablu252 15:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
OMG freaking get over it already!! She's not coming back. She played us fans for fools back in '06. She came out to us saying "Please save Pokémon" when in reality she only wanted to use us to save her job. No doubt voicing Ash was her biggest cash cow. Just be thankful that Pokémon is not in the clutches of 4Kids anymore.
I'm sorry. But I get real angry when people bring up the subject of saving the old VAs when it's over and done with. --File:Ani048MS.gifケンジFile:Ani183MS.gifガールFile:Ani123MS.gif 04:47, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Excuse me, but you have no right to openly bash Veronica that way. Seriously, you don't even realize just how attached Veronica was to Pokemon. She loved voicing Ash and she loved working on the show as well! It was more than just a paycheck to her! Anyone could see that, especially looking at how Veronica (in my opinion) did an excellent job voicing Ash throughout the 4Kids dub. But when Pokemon USA replaced her (and the other members of the original cast), it really did hurt her. I know this, because I actually spoke with her through email, both before and after the VA switch. And by the way, I'm not just saying this because I'm a SOVA member. I'm saying this because it's true! And also, I don't like to hear people say awful things about Veronica (especially when what's being said about her isn't true). --PokemonTrainerLisa 09:59, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey! I'm entitled to my opinion too ya know! First of all, I NEVER said that she did a bad job voicing Ash. I loved her voice. I onced believed that she was attatched to the role too. But I read a report by Water Pokémon Master of PokéBeach that said Veronica Taylor was more intent on getting her job back than saving Pokémon.
I honestly do not think the old VAs care about the show itself. It seems like they are only concerned with getting their jobs back, and that they are using us as their servants to do it. Half of the stuff they said did not even make sense. "The Pokemon themselves all sounded incredibly different from the original show and video games." - Uhh, no, they didn't. All the Pokemon in the episode had their voices pulled from the Pokemon's Recording Archive. They were all exactly the same voices that 4Kids had, just recycled clips, which is what 4Kids did too with Pokemon. And since when were Pokemon supposed to sound like their video game voices? "It was more violent than any other Pokemon episode has ever been. It was in no way up to the standards which have been set over the past eight years by 4kids, Nintendo and the WB." Oh no, it was so violent, I was traumatized for life. My four-year old cousin who was watching it with me ran out of the room and hid under the bed, crying and screaming out how violent Pokemon is. And even if it wasn't up to the "standards" of 4Kids, THEY WOULD HAD GOTTEN THE SPECIAL ANYWAYS and dubbed it. "Please send emails immediately to the two executives at Turner Network (below) and warn them before they make a mistake they will certainly regret for a very long time. Bring Pokemon back to 4kids before it's too late." Pokemon IS NOT and WILL NOT ever go back to 4Kids - their contract expired. Especially after their representatives go on forums and send out e-mails to people bashing PUSA, who has the rights to it. We are going to send out e-mails to Cartoon Network so that we can ruin our chances of ever having Pokemon on a station? What's that going to accomplish? Pokemon will never be on the WB again - they have gotten rid of all Anime on their station. So you want us to destroy our only other medium to air it? I don't think so.
Now time for Eric Stuart. "The show was amateurish and embarrassing. Voices were terrible. Acting was horrible. The writing was extremely bad." I fail to see how the show was embarrassing. While I do agree that the voice actors did not do such a hot job, people need to realize that it was their FIRST time dubbing for Pokemon (some of them have been on the show before, but long ago, so at least in a while). You're not going to be perfect the first time around, no matter how hard you try. If you listen back to the first Pokemon episode, none of the VAs even sound the same - developing into a character takes a long time and much practice, just like anything else in today's world. They'll get better. "The music was inappropriate and the sound mix was painful." Oh! Oh! If I had a wooden spoon I'd use it on Eric Stuart right now. Like a 4Kids member should be talking about the selection of music. All they ever do is change the music every three seconds. The special, in my opinion and in the opinion of many fans that I have seen post, did a fantastic job with the music - they ran through full songs. With the way 4Kids used to do it, they made the show lose a lot of quality - they practically ran whole CDs of music through a blender, and mixed them into a song. "Fans want the "authentic" Pokémon experience, not a cheap imitation. If you acquire the series from Pokémon Company and they do not continue to use 4Kids to produce the series - -you will be buying a series that will rate poorly and destroy the franchise." And here you have the evidence. If "4Kids" doesn't produce the series, it will suck and be doomed and everyone will die and lalala. Yeah, right - you don't care about Pokemon, you only care about your job and the money. 4Kids is one of the worst dubbing companies out there, and their edits are absolutely ridiculous at times - have people forgotten this? Why would we want the show to EVER go back to them? He was right about one thing - we do want the authentic experience. 4Kids has deprived us of that ever since mid-Kanto, and hopefully PUSA will be more "authentic" and close to the original. "Make sure that 4Kids Productions is the production entity for the new Pokémon episodes." And yet even more proof that it's all just about the company and jobs, and not the actual show. I wouldn't be surprised if they knew nothing about Pokemon itself, since they can't even get their facts straight about things like this.
I love it the most when I see how fans are showing sympathy for these people and for the show to go back to 4Kids when they are the same fans who have been bashing 4Kids for years. Yes, the show will be different with the new voice actors, and yes, it probably will take them a while to fit into their rolls. However, Pokemon will still live on. By e-mailing Cartoon Network and complaining, the only thing we will accomplish is Pokemon not airing anywhere, because it will never go back to 4Kids. Does anyone honestly believe that after everything these VAs have said that PUSA will give 4Kids the rights again? Or that the VAs themselves will go work for PUSA? They are aware of the situation, and I'll tell you right now that they aren't happy with the VAs trying to bash them left and right. I don't think anyone would be happy about it. The VAs ruined the chance to dub the show on their own, and they shouldn't be dragging us into their problems which could quite possible cause us to lose the show completely if they do not get there way. Everyone wants and will miss the old VAs - I personally cannot stand to see them go after all of the hard work they have put into the show and how we all have heard their voices for years, but there is really nothing that can be done. It would be an absolute miracle if we ever got the old VAs back, and at this point, we should be working with PUSA, not going against them, because none of what Veronica Taylor and Eric Stuart are telling us to do is going to make Pokemon better for any of us.
So in conclusion, don't e-mail Cartoon Network - it will just make things worse for us, give the VAs even more of a negative reputation with the people who actually have the rights to the show, and probably ruin our chances of ever having Pokemon on Cartoon Network ever again.
She and Eric Stuart gave us false hope that there was a chance to get the old voices back. That's why, I can no longer respect the two of them. They both lied to us and used us to fight to get their jobs back.
And in turn, I am frankly sick of Taylor fans frequently bashing Sarah Natochenny when she is trying her damn hardest to get the role of Ash just right. No one wants to give her a chance and keep trying to get Taylor back even though it is too late. But still I don't go and tell them not to bash her because I know that they have their opinions. --File:Ani048MS.gifケンジFile:Ani183MS.gifガールFile:Ani123MS.gif 10:41, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Wow...I can't believe you seriously believe what WPM has said! I mean, do you believe everything you read on the internet? Anyway, I know for a fact that WPM hears things from his so-called "sources" about what happened during the VA switch. But, upon hearing the truth from people, he twists things around in order to assume what actually happened. And half the time, WPM doesn't even have any solid evidence to back up what we (SOVA) has proved to be "false claims" That's right, I'm saying most of the things WPM has said on his site about the original cast and the VAs are either rumors or lies! WPM's logic and reasoning about the VA switch is very flawed, and filled with many rumors, lies, and misconceptions about the original cast.

Anyway, as to why I'm saying all this - I'm trying to make it perfectly clear to you that what WPM said about the original cast is NOT TRUE AT ALL!

Just in case you need further evidence that the original cast really ARE attached to their characters on Pokemon, here is something very recent. Two SOVA members attended an anime con and got to speak with Veronica and Rachael for over 45 minutes. Here is an account of what happened:

Veronica explained to us that they had indeed received the material for the Mastermind special and that she thought, "we were going to start on it at any given day." She confirmed ONCE AGAIN she was never, ever offered a chance to continue. When I explained to her everything Larry Juris said about the lawyer he offered, their contracts, etc., Veronica gave such a disgusted face and said she couldn't believe how many stories and lies were being made up about what happened. We told her that PUSA and TAJ's stories do not match, yet all the VAs' match. Veronica nodded and said, "It's because we all endured the same exact thing." Puff told her about PUSA's excuse of "characters growing up" and once again Veronica's facial expression showed complete disbelief. Rachael, who had previously showed compassion to Puff and I for the TAJ/Larry situation, again expressed what she thought of the situation. She told us that all the years they worked with him (and she especially, who worked with TAJ for Utena AND Pokemon), everything was fine and they had no problems at all.

Puff and I then went through explaining how the new English dub isn't just about the voice acting anymore and that we thought the dialogue and quality was cheap and rushed. Veronica said, "When I've watched some of the newer episodes I find what the characters are saying to be very surprising and not true to form." I told her some of the out-of-character things Ash has been saying lately, and she was 100% shocked. When explaining a certain piece of dialogue, she looked at Rachael as if she was going scream and Rachael shook her head in disbelief, too. They both began repeating, "No! No! Ash would never say something like that! Never!" We smiled sadly and continued to express how different the show was now and how much better off we are watching the Japanese version.

Puff reexplained what Pokemon.com's "statement" was about the VAs under "contractual obligations," and Rachael said, "The way they wrote that did nothing but turn the problem back on us, and that wasn't fair. It had nothing to do with contracts." Veronica sighed and said, "I got an email a while ago where someone asked if because two years was coming up if we could voice the characters again. But, the thing is, in the end, this really had nothing to do with contracts. We were never approached to continue by Pokemon USA." We nodded and said that a lot of people were wanting to email her to ask if they should give up, and Veronica said, "I don't think it's right for me to tell them to give up. Like I wrote on the picture, you guys have gone above and beyond, but it's Pokemon USA who isn't listening." We told her about the PR director, Amy Wexler, and Veronica restated they had received the Mastermind special under the impression they were going to dub it and said, "But I feel that Pokemon USA was planning this for a very long time, months ahead before action took place." I told her that on Bill Roger's LJ he had written they dubbed the first Battle Frontier episode before the Mastermind Special, and they had sent the first episode to PUSA as a trial, which Rachael and Veronica explained furthers the proof PUSA was planning this for a VERY long time.

And by the way, let me clear something up for you. Did I ever once say I hated Sarah Natochenny herself? No. I don't hate her, in fact I respect her and admire the fact she actually had enough courage to apply for a job like this. However, I simply dislike her voice acting and her portrayal of Ash. You see, the reason many Taylor fans seem to bash Sarah is not because they absolutely hate Sarah Natochenny as an individual - but rather, it's because of the fact that Sarah has apparently chosen not to be a "sound-alike" like Bill Rogers did with his version of Brock. But instead, she went in her own direction. Again, in my opinion, I believe her voice acting on Pokemon leaves a lot to be disired. But what I find most interesting is the fact that ALL her performances of female characters on the show have been great. Which seems to tell me that Sarah is either A) not good at doing male character roles, or B) she is just not the right person to play the role of Ash. Of course, I'm more inclined to go with reason B, because Sarah has completely changed Ash's personality in the dub (in my opinion). And that isn't a good thing for fans like me, who have been watching Pokemon since the very beginning, and who also, have grown very attached to the personalities of the characters in the show. I think that all SOVA wants - in fact, anyone who loves and supports the original cast - all that we want is to make sure that the characters on Pokemon are being portrayed exactly the way they were portrayed back in the 4Kids dub. Now, to be quite honest, I don't think that's too much to ask from Pokemon USA. --PokemonTrainerLisa 10:13, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
