::Yes but when you get a Pokemon in a trade, you're not the OT so it should be obvious that you can't change the name. Once you get your Pokemon back, you're still the OT regardless of who owned it inbetween the catching and present. Shouldn't this article be simplified? It says "If the Pokémon is traded or transferred to another game, its nickname cannot be changed unless it is traded back to its Original Trainer.", which could be shortened to something like "A Pokémon's nickname can only be changed by its OT." Additionally, shouldn't the name rater's location and purpose be discussed here? --ZellMurasame 22:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes but when you get a Pokemon in a trade, you're not the OT so it should be obvious that you can't change the name.
