Substitute

Is the substitute clause tested for actually ending, or does it only continue in Generation IV? Gywall 15:30, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Noticed that it continues past Substitute in Pokemon XD, I don't know about other Gen III games (Shivafang 14:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC))

Poor Average Damage

Article contains average damage, but ignores accuracy, ~~making it a pointless calculation~~. Can I add on the average damage including accuracy? ~~This is very important because it is the only difference between Rock Blast and Rock Slide for a Pokemon with standard accuracy and no ability like Skill Link or Technician~~. Thanks, Pokepro97 (talk) 01:47, 21 June 2014 (UTC).

Edit: I was wrong and corrected. Thanks, Pokepro97 (talk) 06:23, 22 June 2014 (UTC).

We decided not to factor in accuracy for multi-strike moves for two reasons: accuracy/evasion are wild variables in gameplay and factoring them would ignore this flux, and it's simple math: 90% of 79.2 is the same thing as 79.2 x 0.9. The only exception to this guideline is Triple Kick due to its unique, accuracy-intensive mechanic. This is just conjecture, but those who can't calculate percentages probably don't care about knowing average power. —TheVeryBest 09:23, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Accuracy and evasion are not used in the majority of the time, and the accuracy of such moves by default is more important, however my apologies as I was under the impression that strikes could miss, hence reducing the chance of a successive hit further, so clearly the average damage is fine without as with every other move. It was a simple honest mistake and you don't have to be a smartass about it, Pokepro97 (talk) 06:23, 22 June 2014 (UTC).
Whoa! What? That last statement of mine isn't an insult to anyone, least of all you. I was just being realistic: This info would never be useful to those who don't care to do some calculation or don't know how. I know when I've been rude in retrospect, but I think you strongly misunderstood me here. —TheVeryBest 08:08, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Team Rocket's Rhyhorn

In Raging Rhydon in the manga, a Team Rocket's Grunt's Rhyhorn used Rock Blast, even thought it doesn't exist at that time. Should this be noted? MageMagius (talk) 04:00, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Edit : Sorry, the grunt turns out to be Koga MageMagius (talk) 04:01, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

You mean the Rock Throw? [1]--Rocket Grunt 10:02, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
No. It really said Rock Blast. It's the VIZ Media one by the way. MageMagius (talk) 10:26, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
I just checked and it's mentioned on Rock Throw page. You should add it here too.--Rocket Grunt 11:12, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
