Description He analyzes his opponents, and his knowledge of and skills with any Pokémon are the real deal. As Factory Head, he battles challengers.

Thorton (Japanese: ネジキ Neziki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. He forms a sync pair with Bronzong. The sync pair can be obtained through the sync pair scout since launch. The pair's potential can be upgraded to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX from January 25, 2022, which unlocks Thorton's EX Style.

Thorton also forms a sync pair with his Magnezone. This pair can be obtained through a variety sync pair scout beginning on October 5, 2023. This pair can also be raised to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX since it first released, though this pair lacks an EX style.

Trivia

  • Thorton & Bronzong were the first sync pair with access to the Type Resistance status change.
  • Thorton was the first scout-exclusive 4★ sync pair to receive the ability to be raised to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX.
  • During Two Factory Heads, it's revealed that Thorton's Magnezone was originally a rental Pokémon for visitors to Pasio, which Sawyer gave to him after it proved too rowdy to obey anyone else.
  • Thorton & Magnezone's ability to apply the Restrain effect to opposing sync pairs may be a reference to Magnezone's Ability Magnet Pull, which prevents opposing Steel types from switching out.

Origin

Thorton's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. While Thorton does not have a set team in the core series games, Bronzong is one of the rental Pokémon he can potentially use. Its color scheme also matches that of his outfit. Bronzong's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.

Magnezone is another rental Pokémon that Thorton can potentially use in the core series games. Magnezone's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
