It's BLACK hero

Stop this politically correct bullcrap. It's black, not dark. Clearly. --Maxim 19:08, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Why can't it be dark? Jellotalk 21:25, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Dark sounds cooler. TTEchidna 03:52, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't it make more sense to use black? You know... Black & White...? --ケンジガール 07:38, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Cooler or not, it's not very correct. And Kenji's got a point here. --Maxim 15:33, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

They used the term kuroki, not kuroi (which is specifically black-colored). It's intended to be a metaphor, I guess. - Taylor 16:04, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I do agree on this. It should be black, it's not that I'm Japanese but I tried to get every single translation of kuroki and I got "Black" as a conclusion. So, it should be Black but I don't want to move the article without an admin's confirmation. So, What do you say? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 16:47, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
The article won't be moved if we decide on black. But really. Obviously the "Dark Hero" is Zekrom, the Deep-Black Pokémon. Hence, it should be Black Hero. --ケンジガール 06:15, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
So is it a case of that the title can be translated multiple ways? I'm just after finishing watching BW011 by the #blackandwhitesubs fansub group, and they translated the movie title in the preview as Dark Hero... TheChrisD RantsEdits 07:46, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Under the influence of Serebii or Bulbapedia (or other big fansite). Don't really trust fans that much, even fansub groups often take informations from major Pokémon websites and communities. --Maxim 09:24, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Release Date

[1]

According to Corocoro the release date is July 16.RBK 01:55, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Well thanks whoever added it.RBK 01:59, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Two M14 Pages?

Shouldn't there be two Movie 14 Pages? I'm pretty sure Victini & The White Hero- Reshiram is confirmed, seeing as how CoroCoro is an official source. Regardless, making two pages would make sense, even if the two movies are conjoined in some way.Torpoleon 21:46, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

It's not confirmed. They are most likely the same movie. --ケンジガール 21:51, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
I think we can few days more for the confirmation, since the official site already has a count down set. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 23:02, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Well, PokéBeach just added CoroCoro Scans. Has there not been any change here because these are leaks and CoroCoro hasn't officially been released in Japan yet? Also, since information about the Victini Download is shown on the M14 Page, CoroCoro also said that Victini holds the Fire Jewel, is inside a Cherish Ball and has a Wish Ribbon. As with before, it knows V-Generate as well. Just thought I'd bring that up as well.Torpoleon 01:44, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Adding on to what others have said, lets compile the evidence:
  • Two seperate posters pictured in Corocoro
  • Corocoro states there will be two "versions" of the movie

I am Darth Mewtwo... Fear me, and my team made entirely of Mewtwo!!!

Pretty much confirmed now. - Taylor 04:47, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

They're probably two versions of the same movie, so it doesn't technically need two different pages. J-J-M 15:12, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Well we can rename this to M14/M15...but I'll be confusing.Duo2nd 02:48, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Zekrom and Reshiram Talks

Seen in the new teaser trailer of this movie, both Reshiram and Zekrom will talk! And both are confirmed to be male! :D Link to teaser trailer on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqTOGAt-wrg -- Aura24 15:45, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Movie Takes Place...When?

I think everyone's thought of this at one point or another. When DOES this film (or these films, whatever) take place? According to the original TV schedule, it would have been released between BW039 and BW040, had the two-part Rocket-dan vs Plasma-dan episode not been skipped. NOW they will be released between BW041 and BW042--right smack-dab in a mini-arc. What do you guys think? And should we make a mention of this in the article? --Long Live Pokémon! --Skulblaka Shurtugal 18:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

When it is release we will find out based on what Pokémon the main characters have with them. And yes, it will be mentioned just like Movie 13. --HoennMaster 13:43, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
well, we can safely assume that it takes place before the 4th gym battle. -Pokeant 10:38, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
How so, before the 4th gym? Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 15:11, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
This discussion will have no conclusion till the movie is released. The same problem was with M13, the movie aired during the league that's why we don't have an exact answer for that one either. We can't just assume anything either. So, can we please just wait? Thank you. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 15:24, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Differences... not so much?

It looks like Dread Grangil has both Reuniclus and Gothitelle all along in both movies. Look at this scan, you can see him in the snow town with Reuniclus and in the desert with Gothitelle, the opposite of what we knew. It seems that Shade and Aude appear in both movies too, so I think these two movies might just be two perspectives of the exact same story, not even two retellings of a similar story. --The Great Butler 06:46, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Canon?

So because the movies are both there and considered canon, which one has the real events that would actually happen in the Pokémon continuity? Peanut64

Movies are almost never considered canon. Characters almost never recollect anything from movies except maybe in later movies (M12.) Movies typically are made for: 1. Legendary eye candy, 2. Money. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 20:00, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
That isnt true (I mean the canon bit, obviously their sole existance is to make lots of cash). Movies are no different to filler episodes, which are considered canon. Until Reshiram, Zekrom or Victini appear in an episode, its too early to know for certain which one is canon. For all we know, they could bring out a third version. XVuvuzela2010X 16:47, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
I would like to point out that The Rise of Darkrai is confirmed canon due to the Lunar Wing Dawn buys in it showing up in a regular episode (but is the only movie which is confirmed). --SnorlaxMonster 07:15, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

how could that be, because in the sinnoh league dawn did not even know who Darkrai was.--Rise My Yanmegas 19:38, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

She forgot? She also saw one in DP104 remember. (Which is the one in which the Lunar Wing appeared). Werdnae (talk) 22:18, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
And other movies have evidence to say they are cannon, aswell as M10, they are just feature-length fillers... Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 02:17, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
10 being canon also makes 11 and 12 canon because of the three being a trilogy. 8 is canon because of Aura being referenced repeatedly. 7 was canonized in the Battle Frontier Deoxys special. You could say 9 was canonized by Jack Walker appearing in Spurt!. 6 got retroactively canonized by 8 when Butler and Diane appeared in the credits of the latter. Just for reference, and that's not even all of them. --The Great Butler 02:24, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
And M02 is canon since they mention the Lugia from Shamouti Island in the Whirl Islands episodes. XVuvuzela2010X 02:25, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Season changers

Could somone confirm which forms of Deerling and Sawsbuck actualy appeared, because I definatly saw both of them in summer form in the trailers Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 02:14, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

A piece of trivia

I think it should be noted that this movie, counting both versions, far and away tops M01 and M10 as the movie with the most debuting Pokémon in the series. Counting both versions, a total of 34 new Pokémon debut here. --The Great Butler 03:30, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Synopsis?

i'm going to write a Synopsis for this movie, any objections?Emeraldben 11:39, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Why would anyone object? Please do. --SnorlaxMonster 13:23, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

I'll do it Ben don't worry but I've only watched Black Hero, shall I write at the end that it was a synopsis of the Black hero? Prinben 11:06, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Use of "Pokémon the Movie"

Movies 1-3 only use the terms "Pokémon the First Movie" "Pokémon the Movie 2000" and "Pokémon the Movie 3" in the opening sentence of the article, and don't include the extended titles in the infobox at the top of the page, or in the navigation box at the bottom. Why is that the case for these movies? -Thingamajig257- 23:53, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Because that's what the official Pokémon site lists as the movie title. --HoennMaster 05:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
As they did with the movies mentioned. But we still don't include the Pokémon part. Like M13, Pokémon: Zoroark - Master of Illusions. We just say Zoroark: Master of Illusions. --ケンジガール 05:39, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
(conflicted)The official site doesn't use the titles we use though. For example, we use Mewtwo Strikes Back, The Power of One, Spell of the Unown, Celebi: Voice of the Forest, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, etc.; the official site uses Pokémon the First Movie, Pokémon the Movie 2000, Pokémon 3: The Movie, Pokémon 4Ever, Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Pokémon—Zoroark: Master of Illusions, etc. --SnorlaxMonster 05:41, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
I propose we use the following titles: White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram. That seems how other titles have worked. Like Zoroark: Master of Illusions. I would also settle for Victini and Zekrom and Victini and Reshiram. But the Pokémon the Movie part is completely necessary to me. --ケンジガール 23:37, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
To me, just using Black or White alone just kinda sounds awkward, but they should still be used (with the Pokémon the Movie part to make it sound less weird). Just saying Black or White doesn't leave the same implication as referring to the BW games. You know, like "I just played Black" makes more sense than "I just saw White" -tc²₆tc26- 23:45, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
We should just leave them the way they are. Those are the official titles. As for the original series moves, both titles are needed since it is referred to as both on the VHS/DVD releases. --HoennMaster 00:16, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
@tc26: I'm not saying that movies should be called only White and Black. I said White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram. If that's not what you meant, I completely missed the point you were trying to make.
@HoennMaster: So in that case the following should be Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai, Pokémon: Giratina and the Skywarrior, Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, and Pokémon—Zoroak: Master of Illusions. Because that's exactly what we are doing here.
Keep in mind that I'm not saying take it out of the article completely. This is only for links and the infobox because it's awfully long. And as stated before, the other movie links don't include it. See what I'm trying to say? --ケンジガール 00:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I was referring to just the colors without anything before them. <nothing here> White—Victini and Zekrom just kinda sounds weird to me. No need to get mad or anything. By the way, all I was saying was referring to the infobox on the article. As for referring to the movie in <other> articles, I vote for just Victini and Reshiram/Zekrom, as with Black and White Hero. -tc²₆tc26- 01:06, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I wasn't at all mad. I was stating that I may not have understood correctly what you were trying to say. --ケンジガール 01:12, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
@ Kenji. Ok, I get what you are saying, I misinterpreted that. In that case I would also agree that "White—Victini and Zekrom" and "Black—Victini and Reshiram" would be the best options to use. --HoennMaster 03:40, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I'm late on this, but I would like to point out that there's a difference between these movies' titles and, for example, the Zoroark movie. The Zoroark movie and almost every other one puts the "Pokémon" logo above the movie title, and that's what we've always dropped. The thing about these is, the Pokémon logo is above the movie title... and then "Pokémon the Movie" is right there. Even if we drop the "Pokémon" franchise logo like we always do, "Pokémon the Movie" is still there as part of the movie's title. --The Great Butler 03:26, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
I should clarify that I mean when using the title on other pages. --The Great Butler 03:28, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

This is the day

The Pokemon White: Zekrom movie premieres today in American theatres. May someone pay attention to the dub names of the characters, while watching the movie? Especially to Sed's name, since she's a White-exclusive character and her name will not be revealed when the other movie premieres on CN. Another character which doesn't have a dub name revealed yet is Manus. There are also Mako, Tatsuki and Rīku but they'll probably stay unnamed (but we can never be sure). Also, Damon's last name may get revealed, but I wouldn't count on that, either. And enjoy the movie, I won't have a chance to see it until... later, much later. --Maxim 12:15, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

All four of them stayed unnamed and Damon's last name was never mentioned. --The Great Butler 03:33, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Who's the effin' Kajin?

I'm beginning to doubt whether this character exists. Maybe it was some mistake for Yajin and someone misinterpreted it to be a different character? I think that Kajin should be removed from the Moviecharacter template, at least until we learn who (s)he is (and if [s]he exists at all). It's a useless redlink anyway. --Maxim 09:13, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

He's the leader of the desert tribe. Calm down. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 09:14, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
So, do we know his dub name? --Maxim 09:41, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Not as far as I know. Unlike Glacine his name is never spoken in the movie, the only reason we know it is because a cast list had it. I haven't made a page for him purely because we don't really have much organized information yet. --The Great Butler 09:44, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Neither his nor Aude's names were spoken in either movie. Ataro 09:46, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Aude is a Zekrom-only character. --Maxim 09:47, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Both children are in both movies, it's just their spoken roles that differ. Anyway, something else I noticed while looking over Dogasu's cast list - he has characters named Manook and Donook, who are voiced by Kiyotaka Furushima and Kensuke Satou respectively, listed for the movies. I have no clue who these two are. --The Great Butler 09:49, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
I assume they're the two men that were seen in the movies. One of them had a Stoutland in the tundra, the other was in the wilderness with Luisa and her father. Ataro 09:54, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Well we can't really do much with those until we know which one is which. Despite that, I think you're probably right. --The Great Butler 10:04, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Copyedit changes and questions

I copyedited the plot synopsis, but need to check what happened in White because I didn't see it.

  • I changed the desert "tornado" to a "dust storm". Is it ever explicitly called a "tornado" in the movie? (I think it has to be a mis-dub if it's explicitly called a "tornado", but I guess we have to go with what the characters say.)
  • I presume that White shows Reshiram in the tundra in Damon's mid-movie flashback, similar to Zekrom in the tundra for Black?
  • The article says "satisfying the voice", but Ash doesn't quite satisfy Reshiram in Black: Reshiram retorts, "It is your courage that shall become your truth" (right after appearing in front of him). Does a similar thing happen in White? I left that phrase in for now.
  • There was this sentence in the article right before Mannes arrives in his helicopter - "Back up at the top of the castle, Juanita again attempts to get Damon to stop, but he refuses, insisting that sacrifices must be made for great accomplishments." It doesn't happen like this in Black; instead, it is Ash who prompts this (Damon: "Sometimes, in the search for ideals, sacrifices are required!"), right before Zekrom (Damon's dragon) returns to free Victini. Can someone check if this was correct for White, or perhaps was this just a mistake? I removed it for now while this gets cleared up.
  • In Black's climax (and Victini (movie 14)), Victini first fires a Searing Shot before doing his V-Create, but the article had only mentioned a V-Create. Was this different in White?

I also added section breaks so it's more readable, but I'm not sure I picked the best ones; I tried to make them generic and thus relatively spoiler-free as well. To read the changes, I recommend using the individual diff links since the combined diff goes crazy: 1 2 3

AySz88 08:28, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

To address what I can in order -
  • Dust storm works, I didn't know what to call it
  • Correct, Reshiram is seen blowing up the iceberg in Glacine's village, and earlier, Damon receives a Revival Herb from Luis
  • I think you might be misinterpreting the line, but I felt the line from Zekrom in White was more clear
  • You're correct, it's Ash that prompts Damon to make his declaration. That part I put in error
  • I couldn't tell it was a Searing Shot from the poor quality stream I had seen at the time, I thought it was part of V-Create
Hopefully that clears everything up. --The Great Butler 09:54, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Hope you're okay with what I changed! :) AySz88 06:25, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Of course. Glad to be of some help. --The Great Butler 06:30, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

US DVD cover

I think the DVD cover currently displayed is actually another country's. The one on this page appears to be the actual US cover. Amazon page- unsigned comment from The Great Butler (talkcontribs)

Swanna

I was watching the credits to White on youtube http://youtu.be/blxrbwwvh-8, and there are Swanna. The article lists Swanna as a Black exclusive. Shouldn't this be corrected. I would take initiative on this, but so far all my edits have been undone. My first edit especially was met with less than constructive criticism. Yamitora1 00:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Finnish names

According to the official Finnish website, these movies are going to be released named "Pokémon-elokuva White - Victini ja Zekrom" and "Pokémon-elokuva - Victini ja Reshiram". Could someone add this to the in other languages infobox? Ariano 19:06, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
