Raid Day

In Pokémon GO, Raid Days (also known as Special Raid Challenges) are three-hour events which allow players to participate in Raid Battles against a featured Raid Boss. Most Gyms during this period of time will have the Boss active for the one* hour, and if the Boss is defeated, the Pokémon encountered afterwards will have a 10% chance of becoming Shiny.[1] After the Raid time is up, Raid Boss gets renewed for another hour. Players may receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from Gyms during the three-hour window. Raid Days sometimes include event-exclusive moves, which may be known by the featured Pokémon if obtained during the raid hours (including via evolution or capture outside of raids).
