The Pokémon franchise, called Pokemoni in Latvian, first reached Latvia in 2000 with the airing of EP001.

Pokémon games

The games are released in Latvia at the same time as all other European countries, and are left in English. Distribution of Nintendo products has been handled by Bergsala AB from late 90s/early 2000s.

Pokémon anime

For the first time, anime appeared on PBK television. Because the channel was Russian-language it only showed the Russian dub. From September 6, 2001 and airing every weekday at 6:30pm, LNT began broadcasting anime this time with dubbing in Latvian. There is no other information.[1][2]

Movies

A Latvian subtitled version of POKÉMON Detective Pikachu was shown in cinemas on May 10, 2019.
