Missing VA

Please, at least wait for the credits to roll first, then add that missing V.A template on the respective articles. Thank you ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 13:12, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

It's not going to make a difference it just 20 minutes. They've appeared and we don't know their voice actor yet, so the tag is valid. This happens all the time with many users. --HoennMaster 14:41, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
With that logic we might as well add it as soon as the character is introduced(to the series as a whole, not just the anime), cause we don't know their English voice actor either way. We know Elesa will appear in the anime, but we don't know who her voice actresses will be, so why don't we add the tag to her page? The tag is more so for when we know who the credited actors are, but we don't know who is which character. Adding it before the credits are even revealed defeats that purpose. We know we don't know the voice, that's why we wait for the credits. Do you understand now? Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 14:57, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
That's not my logic at all. Obviosuly, you don't know the English voice actor if they haven't even appeared in the English version yet, hence the undubbed character template to state that. The character has appeared, and we don't know the voice actor, that's the point of the template. Not to mention you can't even see the credit list on Cartoon Network due to it being pushed to halfscreen. 20 minutes is not going to make a big difference, nor is it worth complaining about. --HoennMaster 15:11, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I think the purpose of the tag is to let everyone know we need help with finding them, Kenji will find out for us not to long after the episode, so we don't really need everyone else to know unless Kenji or Jo can't find it Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 15:14, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm all for having the tag so that other people can help out. I don't ususally get on the computer uuntil long after the episode's airing because I sleep in. But really... to do it before the credits roll? It's best to wait until then to add the tag. So we can see what the possibilities are.
And in regards to the undubbed episode tag, when the Japanese episodes premier, we always change the future airing tag to the undubbed tag after it has aired, not as soon as it starts. The dub should be no different. So I'm asking of you not to remove the undubbed tag until the episode ends. Thank you. --ケンジガール 22:25, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I can do that, but everyone has been removing it as soon as it starts for years now and people are going to continue to do that unless a site wide message goes out. And if that's the case then people shouldn't be complaining to me about this when they've taken the undubbed tag off right away as well. --HoennMaster 06:00, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't watch what happens when the dub episode airs so I don't know who has done it for all these years. All I know is that you did it this time so I am letting you know for the future. It's not a complaint by any means. --ケンジガール 06:38, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I wasn't referring to you in this case :). --HoennMaster 14:42, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Edit reversion...

Why is Team Rocket's arrival in Nimbasa City not a major event, even though that was seen at the beginning of BW039?
~~LDEJRuff~~ 17:19, 16 July, 2011 (EDT)

How is it a major event? Unlike Ash, Team Rocket don't go city to city for a purpose they just look for whatever they can steal. It's two different scenarios. --HoennMaster 13:08, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

What do you mean?

"Either way, it's considered to be in the same location. Lookt at that page"

In the Kanto article under the the "Anime-exclusive locations" section.

What page are you talking about? And when you said it's "considered", don't you mean YOU? Who else or what else considered it along with you? Han Ji-Wan 21:28, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

"Like its counterpart, it appears to be somewhere near Cerulean City". Exact quote from the Bill's Lighthouse article. --HoennMaster 17:00, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
That doesn't mean it's correct..? I checked to see that Ash and company were in Cerulean City in Episode 7 while they were in Vermilion City in Episode 14. I think Vermilion City is the safer bet. :/ Han Ji-Wan 17:19, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
The Kanto saga was never straight forward with where they were. They traveled all over in random paths. They traveled the bridge on Cycling Road after they left Fuchsia City on their way to Cinnabar. --HoennMaster 17:36, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Straightforward or not, I think the safer bet is Vermilion City. And I do that even in the games... Han Ji-Wan 18:57, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Clearly, this conversation isn't going anywhere. Do you have an idea of who we should discuss this with? I was thinking the leader of Project Locations, Clarky13. Or the Project Anime leader or both? Han Ji-Wan 19:02, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Kenji. She's the go to for anime related things like this. --HoennMaster 01:33, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Hoenn and Johto

You said that various maps in Japan place it southwest of Johto. Can you link to some examples? I know we have this one, but it is meaningless as there are cloud borders between them, and Sinnoh is located to the east of Kanto when it is confirmed to be north, showing that the cloud borders mean that those aren't their actual positions. --SnorlaxMonster 09:26, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

I haven't seen the pictures recently so I'll have to find them again and get back to you. --HoennMaster 09:28, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Well, I'm going to have to remove it until you can provide a map as it is currently an unverified claim. Sorry. --SnorlaxMonster 09:51, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Here is one of the ones I was talking about. Again, I realize that there are clouds between the two regions, but I believe those are to show that the regions are far apart. This map was at an event in Japan around the time the seventh movie came out. That other map that you posted was an official map. True that Sinnoh is in the wrong position, but they still put Hoenn in the same position as they did years ago. --HoennMaster 16:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Pretty much as you said, the clouds show that it is far away. They don't mean that they are in exactly those positions relative to each other, with a distance between them. The reason it is there seems to be that it fits nicely horizontally. I don't think we should consider Hoenn to be southwest of Johto on those maps alone. --SnorlaxMonster 07:24, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
They could have put it in other places and still have it fit. It seems like no coincidence that it happens to always be there in relation to Johto. --HoennMaster 07:56, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
There is other evidence that suggests it is to the southwest of Johto, the southwestern Embedded Tower is stated in-game to have been built by people from Hoenn, in a parallel to how the northern Sinjoh Ruins were built by Sinnoh residents. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 22:11, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Protection

Go to Clay's talk page, it's already been discussed. There is no need for the protection.RBK 21:27, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

The discussion just happened and on a completely different page so it's not like I'm suppose to automatically known. --HoennMaster 21:28, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

13-11

Heatran Rescue is the 11th episode of season 13, Keeping in Top Forme is the 12th. They've been swapped around in dub order for some reason, that's how they are on the Oz DVDs and on Pokemon.com, so at this point - that's the most likely order they'll be on the DVDs (which is why I changed it) but there's no way to confirm it 100% at the moment (which is why I hid it). -Thingamajig257- 06:52, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

In this case Pokémon.com is very wrong. That's not even the order the episodes aired in or their real order. But fine, I will leave as is. --HoennMaster 07:24, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Recent revision

I'm sorry about that. I wasn't looking at the newest revision and thought I was. I didn't see that it was removed afterwards. G50 06:04, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

The dub?... the writers make me think she forgot what a pokeball was and then they turn around and give her something? Random Chaos (talk) 22:38, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Movie trivia

I did not mention the edit summary in every single edit because it would have looked kind of repetitive and a bit spammy, since there were 15 articles to be taken care off. Neither did I know that you do not check the 'recent changes' more than often, or whether a certain article is in your watchlist or not. Anyway, my apologies if you got confused because of it. Pokemon Gale of Whirlwind Wiki

I have a similar wiki that deals with Pokemon as wondered you interested in helping edit it. The name of the wiki is http://pokemongaleofwhirlwind.wikia.com/wiki/Pokemon_Gale_Of_Whirlwind_Wiki. --DarkstarX84 (talk) 22:23, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Rebecca Honig

Annie read the credits to me and we saw Rebecca Honig in there. I may not be able to see but Annie can. undid your undo, i am not edit waring. also about Emily, let's remember that voice actors who voice sertain characters on Pokemon don't get credited, like how Amy was not credited as the Block Bots in Destany Deoxys even though she did them. Pluss, it's more likely that it's Rebecca Honnig because her name appeared in the credits for that episode and Emily Robbison's name didn't. Christian Woods Azu! 09:42, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Hoenn

Anime map of regions

This is the type of map you are using as evidence for Hoenn's location. Notice the clouds separating Hoenn and Sinnoh, which have always been used to indicate that the positions are not relevant. If the positions on maps like these were important, then Sinnoh would not be in the east, but in the north, as we do have confirmation that Sinnoh is north of Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. Clearly the positions of the cloud-separated regions on these maps is for convenience, not actually indicating their position. The real-world Japan argument falls down for three reasons: 1) anime maps put Hoenn southwest-west (close to entirely west) of Johto, while in the real world Kyushu is much closer to southwest 2) Hoenn is rotated 90 degrees from Kyushu, and due to in-game dialogue indicating Ever Grande City is in the east and Southern Island being, well, south, Hoenn's cardinal directions cannot be compared to the real world 3) the whole point of putting the direction of one region to another in the articles is because we are NOT assuming that they are relative to each other in the same way as their real-world counterparts. Embedded Tower is not enough to support the position of the region on its own, as while you can assume that the people of Hoenn would build the tower at the point of the region closest to their home region, we have never been told this. Unless there is some actual evidence that Hoenn is southwest of Johto, please do not add it back to the article again. --SnorlaxMonster 06:41, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Even if the clouds do show distance, it doesn't change the fact that Hoenn is placed south/southwest of Johto on multiple maps, as I have said before. Yes Sinnoh, is placed north on the second one, but the movie map is from a magazine spread, they couldn't put it north since it would have been off of the page altogether. Embedded Tower is said to have been created by people who came from Hoenn. The tower is located in the southwestern part of the region, which would put Hoenn even farther southwest considering this is where they would have first appeared. This is supported by those maps released in Japan more then once, which again, always show Hoenn as southwest. Even if all the regions are slightly tweaked from real world Japan, they have still shown to be in same general likely areas as they are in real life with Kanto/Kanto being immediately east of Johto/Kansai (and Chubu), Sinnoh/Hokkaido being north of them, and Hoenn/Kyushu being south/southwest of them. It backs up what those official maps have already shown us. That is actual evidence. --HoennMaster 15:56, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

a question

I don't belive any staff members are currently on, and you seem like a realiable user so I have a question. I was thinking of adding a personality section to Zinzolin's page and I am unsure where to put it. Would right above the trivia section be good? Icestar649 (talk) 01:50, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

That would be the best place to put it...However I don't really see that section on any other villain's page so I would still ask an admin about it. --HoennMaster 02:15, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Alright, thank you very much for the feedback. I'll ask an admin sometime tomorrow. Icestar649 (talk) 02:19, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

The error in BW097

I compared the image with the error in it to other images where the perspective is clearer; Meowth is not standing far enough from them for it to be possible that perspective is responsible for the size difference.

015.jpg - The error

098.jpg - Correct version

As you can see, it is impossible for a perspective switch to create what you see in the first image. As such, I'm going to readd the error. --The Great Butler (talk) 02:56, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

I agree with HoennMaster here. It is not really an error but a tilted (from down to upwards) close-up shot, which is why Meowth looks taller. AdynizWanna talk? 03:08, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
If I may, the kind of angle that would be necessary to make him that tall would be so sharp that it would be a lot more noticeable on the humans. I agree that there is a tilted-upward angle to the shot, but judging from how the humans look in it, it's not nearly steep enough to add several feet to Meowth's height. --The Great Butler (talk) 03:13, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Eeveelution

I am confused as to why you removed my addition of Annie's Espeon to the list of Eeveelutions in the anime. In the summary it said that she wasn't a major or recurring character, but I don't think that's a qualification. Did it mention recurring characters in that section of the article? I'm not mad, just curious. AGGRON989 21:19, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

There have been numerous characters who have owned Eevee and it's evolutions in the Anime. We only list the major ones there so as not to bog down the entire article. --HoennMaster 21:35, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
OK. I watch the anime but probably don't follow it enough to notice all of the times an Eeveelution shows up. AGGRON989 22:38, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello

I've noticed you've been doing this lately, so I thought I'd address it. It's preferred that we wait until the dub episode has finished airing before we edit the article to reduce the amount of edits that would possibly have to be made later on. Not a big issue, but I thought I'd remind you about it. Thanks. --Pokemaster97 13:17, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Dub names

If a character's dub name was revealed on pokemon.com prior to the episode's airing, it would be best to wait until the episode aired as pokemon.com has made several mistakes with the names, especially the infamous Natasha/Nanette incident. PattyMan 00:36, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Ah!

Now I see the attack that you're talking about. All the times I've looked at that "invasion" (for lack of a better word, they were trespassing LOL), I thought that was the Magneton's attack exploding upon impact with something, but never realized that was Pikachu's own attack causing the reaction. =) CycloneGU (talk) 04:33, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

It's one of those blink and you miss it moments. The only reason I noticed it was because you hear Pikachu very briefly. Even then I watched it multiple times to make sure. --HoennMaster 04:57, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Speaking of "blink and you miss it", I had seen the Japanese w English subtitles and never saw Clemont and Ash come across Meyer outside on the way to where Team Rocket was hiding. I noticed that in the NA version today. Now I know how Blaziken Mask came upon the Mega mecha. They also cut out the Team Rocket motto in the Japanese upload, which has never happened here I think. Research proposal for Lily (Kanto) in Chronicles

I don't know to make a specific request, but in watching Cerulean Blues I noticed who I very much believe to be Hudson voicing Lily during the flashback scene. I tried to bring it up on the character's talk page, but no matter where I go that unyielding bastion that is Force Fire will resist anything remotely resembling change and prevent the reciprocation of any kind of brainstorming and thus stalemate the forwarding towards any feasible solution. Can you look into this sometime? Rosebr10 (talk) 22:53, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
