Kalosian
As you asked in the edit summary on an edit at Goodra (Pokémon) (intentionally typing the full title), the answer is yes. In-game, the word "Kalosian" is used in the description of Kiloude City. Just letting you know. --C.Ezra.M (T/C) 07:01, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Creating new Pokemon articles
When creating new articles for Pokemon, use the {{NewPokémon}}
template as it has everything that is needed when making new Pokemon articles. Thank you.--ForceFire 13:19, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Cool, I wasn't aware of the existence of this template, thanks :)4iamking (talk) 13:22, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Marks in G9event/head
The G9event/head template does appear to be planned for use on the Poké Portal News page, as Chosen pre-emptively added that template for Charizard the Unrivaled, (although hidden until we have confirmation of moveset, level, etc.), but that event does indeed have a guaranteed Mark. If it's going to be used on that page to denote certain event raids, then either the "Ribbon" field needs to be reworked to accept Marks, or we need a Mark field. Atrius97 (talk) 00:50, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- The ingame event template is usually used for events that are catchable ingame, through items or otherwise; it's more tailored for that because it doesn't need to specify specific pokéballs and all. I would imagine that would be the one to use, but until we see the specifics of how it will work I wouldn't want to modify the template just yet. -- 4iamking (talk) 01:44, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- Considering we seem to be continuing to use that template for 7★ raids and certain unique bosses like Walking Wake/Iron Leaves, do you have an opinion my recent comment on Talk:Poké Portal News about splitting all the 7★ raids to their own event distribution list page? They're a fairly unique format for event distributions, (also all consistently "1 per player", like other most other event Pokémon).
I'm worried that over the course of 2023, we might be looking at an excessively large page if we continue this trend of near weekly Poké Portal News events. We're only in May and the page already dwarfs what a Wild Area News page would have looked like at the same point in any given year. Atrius97 (talk) 05:53, 15 May 2023 (UTC)- I mean personally, I don't think the Poké Portal news page as we have it right now is fun to read though. I have to say I'm not really a big fan of how we're doing the Poké Portal news page to begin with, especially with just listing the items in long-form text format as we currently are. I feel like it would be nicer to just update the page to reflect more the style of the wild area news articles, though that would require the updating of several protected templates that I have no control over. if that were to happen then we could just note that a certain Pokémon in an event is only single capture like we would for the Shaymin on the Flower Paradise page for example. It would also make that page more visually appealing. Mechanically (other than TPC locking a lot more events to be single capture) PPN works basically like a WAN where the default setting is nothing so I don't see why the articles need to look so different when what we did in SwSh worked well.-- 4iamking (talk) 06:21, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- But I guess to more directly answer your question, I mean my short answer would probably be just that id leave it be, I dont see what would be gained by just making a separate list of promoted raids that are only catchable once, when 75% of them have a Pokémon like that. given the size of the current page, if we just continue with the annual archiving of past PPN promotions, I think thats enough, doesn't seem like the article will ever go much over 100kb, which at that length is fine, the SWSH serial code event page is twice that length (and I've wanted to split those for a while too, but thats kinda fallen on deaf ears) -- 4iamking (talk) 06:44, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- I hard agree that I'd like to simply it down to just encounter tables like Wild Area News, but as you said, we'd need an encounter template for that. My comments on the non-existent Template_talk:Catch/entry9 seem to have also fallen on deaf ears. The typical staff who make/maintain similar catch templates haven't put anything in place so far, and I don't have the knowledge to create it myself. Atrius97 (talk) 09:34, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Honestly looking at the template again, I think we can largely just copy over the Gen 8 one and repurpose for gen 9.... replace the weather spawns with Dusk/day/night and the Gen 8 MS sprites for Gen 9 MS sprites, changing the wishing piece sprite for a tera orb sprite and we should be largely ok with what I can tell. Maybe something ill do later when I find time, kinda dying with my uni thesis the next few weeks. -- 4iamking (talk) 11:45, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Gen 9 Event Thumbnails
Hi, I noticed you were adding thumbnails to pages like Poké Portal News for certain events. Just so you're aware, the "Poke Portal News" news page used in Scarlet and Violet can be accessed via web browser here: https://sv-news.pokemon.co.jp/en/list That should contain thumbnails and event promo images for any Gen 9 event they announce via the in-game news app, and you can swap the "en" part of that URL for other languages like "ja" to see any language specific news posts. Atrius97 (talk) 01:41, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
- Cool thanks! I didn't know there was a web archive of the news posts:). I was just getting them from the HOME app earlier, but they remove the posts there once the event is over.-- 4iamking (talk) 01:50, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
Paldea location pages
First off, I would like to thank you for creating pages for locations in Paldea, for future reference though, the stub template belongs near the bottom of the page, not near the top.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 18:45, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Thank you!
With it just hitting the 4 month mark since the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, I wanted to take an opportunity to offer a more personal acknowledgment of some of the hard work you've contributed during this incredibly busy period for Bulbapedia. Your work towards expanding the content of item and ingredient pages was a huge help in our coverage this go around. Bulbapedia's continued success as a wiki relies on dedicated and passionate editors such as yourself. So again, thank you and keep up the excellent work! --Pokemaster97 22:10, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
HSP
I was curious as to where this was used as an abbreviation for HGSS Black Star Promos. I don't remember this ever being an abbreviation back in the day, so I'm more inclined to leave the redirect going towards Beginning Set and having the hatnote there. MaverickNate 10:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- If you take take the URL of the official deck gallery like here the set code used is "HSP", also competitive sites like limitless use it as the abbreviation for the set -- 4iamking (talk) 11:21, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
Poké Ball template
Do you think it'd be possible to make the event distribution template list Hisuian Poké Balls with modern-day counterparts with "(Hisui)" at the back of their names to avoid creating redirects? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:00, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- I still don’t think it’s wrong to have the redirects, “Hisuian Heavy Ball” is the name used officially for example as that’s what the TCG card is called. And there’s no ambiguity as people searching that are going to be looking for that page.-- 4iamking (talk) 16:14, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
RE: French merch
Thank you for your help! I was actually considering the same thing, but I don't think I'm allowed to create a new article yet... :) Do you know when I will be able to do that myself? --RickvdBelt (talk) 21:54, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- Once your Autoconfirmed you'll be able to do so, might take a week or 2 but the requirements aren't that high, in the mean time if you need to create another article, just let me know and I can gladly do it for you. :) -- 4iamking (talk) 21:59, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Whoops!
I saw you restoring HZ016.png to a previous version, but the version I saw was different from the one in use, so I re-uploaded it before realizing the version you had restored was actually the one in use and my device simply hadn't updated the visual yet. My apologies. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:01, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
Editing without knowing
Hey! So you edit my page in which it didn't need to be edited. Marley's EX VS model hasn't been uploaded yet so. This is the page I'm talking about: User:Connixstar08/6★ EX. If you need to edit something, please talk to me about it before you do it. Btw, I keep refering this as "my page" because I was Connixstar08, but I was signed out and had to make a new account. But then I was able to sign back in but I've been using this account instead. ----AsherNiX (TaLK) 19:58, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- I was going through pages that show up on Category:Pages with broken file links, as the image had been moved, I updated the link, so it would not show up there. Also, I should inform you that per our blocking policy you aren't allowed multiple accounts on Bulbapedia, if you want to have a new account this needs to be approved by a staff member and will usually result in your old account being blocked. 4iamking 20:09, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ok thanks for that inform. If my old account gets blocked, would that mean that User:Connixstar08/6★ EX would get deleted? If so, is it possible for you to make me a subpage of my current account and ill copy and paste User:Connixstar08/6★ EX into that new subpage?----AsherNiX (TaLK) 20:23, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
- I am not the one to do the enforcing of this policy, but to answer your question, no in such cases the content most likely wouldn't be deleted, and the page could even be moved to your Userspace. Also, since I can see that a large majority of your edits are in the Userspace, I would like to tell you to be mindful of the Userspace policy. If you want the pages that you prepare there to be more visible and prepared for the main space, consider attaching
{{mainspace}}
to the pages as you make them, this will let others know that they are intended for the main space and better helps us to keep track of pages as they are being constructed. 4iamking 22:02, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

template
Hey, I just want that template to make fakémon or something to post on reddit. When I just simply copy the template's code on other wikis - it doesn't work, displaying just wall of text. But the weirdest is that class="round" seems to not exist at all in wikisource. Then I saw Template:Round within the infobox then created that template too but it is just text... Can I just make a template that meets my needs and doesn't aytomatically add categories to the article, can you help? メガヘ 23:55, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- The round tables are a custom table class we have here on Bulbapedia, it wont work on other wikis unless code for it is implemented in the wiki's css stylesheet. As for your other question we have
{{PokémonInfoboxNoncat}}
which you can use that wont deposit all the categories on user pages. As I alluded to on your talk page though, please do keep our Userspace policy in mind. The reason we don't allow new accounts to create user pages is because Bulbapedia is intended to be an Encyclopaedic resource first, and not a social networking and sharing platform. Performing repetitive personal edits without contributing to the main project can lead to sanctions being taken against the account.
- One other thing is the system really doesnt take to kindly to emojis, this is just a technical limitation that will hopefully get fixed in the future but for now it would be better if you can remove it from your signature cause it can cause issues with future edits. 4iamking 00:20, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
Bengal Flag
The Bengali content that's been released so far has been primarily targeted toward Indian users. You can see that from the posts on the official Pokémon India Facebook or the official website, for example. Since there's no official TPC presence in Bangladesh, I don't think it'd be appropriate to use the Bangladesh flag on its own. (I also think we shouldn't be using flags to represent languages anyway, but that's a separate issue.) --Abcboy (talk) 23:36, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- On a similar note, most of the Tamil language content has been released in India, but the
{{epilang}}
template uses a flag that is neither Indian nor Sri Lankan. → PikaTepig999 00:24, 4 October 2023 (UTC)- I think you're highlighting a problem with flags in general, especially for a country as ethnically diverse as India. We already use the Indian flag for Hindi as that (alongside English) are the state languages of the country. Bengali is not one of the 2 national languages of India but is a regional language, and it is the state language of Bangladesh. I replaced it since I think as long as we are using flags it is better to use the flag of the country where the language is an official language, unlike Tamil (where we use the ethnic flag rather than either the Sri Lankan or Indian) there also isn't an ethnic flag we can put in its place. 4iamking 08:40, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
Russian Cards
Hi I saw your message where you were wondering why I was uploading Russian Pokemon TCG cards.
I have decided to put them on Bulbapedia because you can find a lot of English and Japanese cards on the web, but finding Korean, French, Russian, etc. can be a hassle.
I didn't know about the "1 upload per card art', so it that's the case, I can stop uploading other Russian Pokemon cards available at my disposal. Maybe I can start uploading them to the Internet Archive; that way, they will not take up space on Bulbupedia.
Anyhow, thank you for your message, and I will be glad to contribute to this archive in other ways.
Have a nice day:) REVISI0N 13:55, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- That's fine, The reason the rule exists is theres just too many cards and to upload every single language variant of every card isn't really the wiki's purpose and it would be an unsustainable project to manage hundreds of thousands of card scans. The images have been deleted. Thanks for your understanding :). One other thing, dont use emoji's on Bulbapedia if possible, it's a technical issue that will hopefully one day get fixed, but it causes problems and makes your edits disappear. 4iamking 22:31, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Super late but to clarify: Bulbapedia is primarily an English wiki, so its contents incl. card images should be in English whenever possible. If an English card image is not available (eg. the card has not been released in English yet), then the card image in Japanese or other languages are permitted. Edit dispute
Hey 4iamking,
Got a bit of an edit dispute regarding the formatting/structure of Junsei Kuninobu that I was hoping you could help resolve, mostly about consistency between pages on Game Freak staff and TCG illustrators. You were listed on Projects Games and TCG, so I thought you'd be appropriate to bring this to. Thanks --Apopheniac (talk) 13:43, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- I talked it over with another staff member and we agree that the interview isn't necessary to explicitly mention, mainly because interviews would mainly serve as references anyway. We would want to include any important information that came out of the interview onto the page itself, rather than directing readers elsewhere, especially in this case where the interview transcript is in Japanese, and thus not very accessible for an English based readership. Therefore I restored your changes. 4iamking 14:17, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks king, appreciate the quick resolution. --Apopheniac (talk) 15:41, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
TeraRaidDrop template
I appreciate the changes you've made to the template so far, but I wanted to point out an issue where it looks like the extra action criteria is spilling out of the extra action name. -Minibug (talk) 21:03, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- That seems to be because
{{TeraRaidInfo/ExAction}}
and{{TeraRaidInfo/Move}}
have the condition text inside of a div and its colliding with the other text.. I tried testing nowrap logic but that just seems to distort things.. for now I just made the template slightly wider which is a bit of a bandaid but should mitigate this issue. 4iamking 21:31, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
Pokémon SP logo
Hi 4iamking, I am unable to change/upload/update the Pokémon SP logo for Team Galactic , Gym Leader , Elite Four , Champion , and Frontier Brain (for some admin restriction). I have SVG version of them. Can I send it to you instead? ReignBough (talk) 03:57, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- we cant display SVG files, they would have to be converted to png and then uploaded. I can do that but if you upload as png it should work. 4iamking 07:46, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
HeartGold/SoulSilver Walkthrough Broken Links
Hey 4iamking!
It seems like some of the section links are mislabeled and missing altogether in this walkthrough. For example, on the Section 3 page, it says at the bottom that the next section should be Route 32, Ruins of Alph, etc. but when I click the link it jumps to Goldenrod City.
Rakp89 (talk) 16:30, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- I know you've asked 4iamking but I am free to help, what page(s) are these errors on so I can fix them?--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:26, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
