User:Dannyboy601/Template:Capture

This collection of sub-templates combines Template:Fiorepkmn, Template:Almiapkmn and Template:Obliviapkmn into one template, making use of another new template, User:Dannyboy601/Template:FM, while also borrowing elements from Template:Catch. It is designed to list the wild Pokémon that can be encountered in a location in the Pokémon Ranger games. Currently, it is not intended to include scripted encounters with Pokémon that are released immediately after capture, such as bosses, Pokémon belonging to members of villainous teams, and Pokémon that are the primary focus of missions or quests.

Documentation

Capture/header

This template begins the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The number of the game in which the location appears.
2 The type of terrain that the location comprises. For a full list of options, see here.

Capture/div

This template divides the table into sections.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The number of the game in which the location appears.

This should be the same as in the corresponding Capture/header template.

2 The type of terrain that the location comprises. For a full list of options, see here. This should be the same as in the corresponding Capture/header template.
3 The text that appears in the divider.

Capture/entry

This template provides information on a single Pokémon that can be found in the area, with each instance of the template corresponding to a new row in the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The number of the game in which the location appears.

This should be the same as in the corresponding Capture/header template.

2 The Pokémon's National Pokédex number.
3 The Pokémon's name.
4 The Pokémon's group, as listed in the Browser. The template does not forbid the Fairy and ??? types, but they should not be used, as they do not exist as groups in the Ranger games.
5 A detailed description of where the Pokémon can be found in the location. This should include information on any field moves that are required to reach the Pokémon. If appropriate, it should also include how many of the Pokémon appear, describing the location of each individual separately.
6 The type of Poké Assist that the Pokémon has. This is not necessarily the same as the Pokémon's group.
7 The name of the Pokémon's field move. If the Pokémon has no field move, this parameter should be left blank.
8 The level of the Pokémon's field move. If the field move is one that has no level (i.e. Cross, Flash, Agility, Airlift, Dark Power, Demist, Elevate, Fly, Magma Flow, Rain Dance, Sand Fill, Stink, Swim, or Teleport), a single em dash [—] should be used rather than leaving the parameter blank. If the Pokémon has no field move at all, this parameter should be left blank.
9 The number of loops required to capture the Pokémon. This parameter should only be used for locations that appear in the first Pokémon Ranger game, as the loop mechanic was changed in the second and third games.

Capture/footer

This template ends the table.
