Generation I

In Generation I, this theme is played at the Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, and Victory Road.

Generation II

In Generation II, this theme is played inat the Mt. Moon (but not in the Mt. Moon Square), Rock Tunnel, Diglett's Cave, and Underground Path (Kanto Routes 5-6).

Generation III

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, this theme is played at the same places as in Generation I: Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, and Victory Road.

Additionally, it is also played in some caves at the Sevii Islands: Lost Cave, Icefall Cave, and Tanoby Chambers.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen as well as Pokémon Emerald, this theme is played in the Altering Cave.

Generation IV

In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, this theme is played at the same places as in Generation II: Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, Diglett's Cave, and Underground Path (Kanto Routes 5-6).

Unlike in the Generation II games, this theme also plays in Mt. Moon Square, except it is replaced by the "Mt. Moon" theme during the Clefairy event.

The Cerulean Cave (which was absent in Generation II games) and Embedded Tower (which debuted in Generation IV) also play this theme.

Generation VII

In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, this theme is played at the Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, and Victory Road.
