  • Hirō attempts to interview Red, much to Gold's annoyance.
  • Pibu is kidnapped by someone, who proceeds to knock the wind out of Gold.
  • Red and Pika attempt to rescue Pibu.
  • The attackers are revealed to be a wild Poliwrath and Venusaur.
PSs2
  • Red and Pika battle the wild Poliwrath and Venusaur that kidnapped Pibu.
  • Due to their high level and being same species as Poli and Saur, Pika has trouble facing his opponents.
  • After calming him down, Red has Pika defeat the two Pokémon and rescue Pibu.
  • Sometime later, Red reveals that the Super Rising Thunder technique Pibu used to defeat the Masked Man is actually named Volt Tackle.
  • To help master the technique, Red lends Gold his gloves.
  • Red and Pika go off to meet up with Blue.
Eight years prior to the Diamond & Pearl arc
  • Diamond and Pearl see the comedy show that inspires them to become comedians.

  • Sina and Dexio meet with Sun and ask for his help in finding the Zygarde Cores and Cells scattered across Alola.
  • Sina and Dexio offer to pay Sun one hundred thousand yen for each of the forty Cores and Cells remaining, leaving Sun with only six million yen left to save if he completes the task.
  • Sun agrees to help and tells Lillie to stay behind while he goes to Po Town to begin his search.
  • Sun arrives at Po Town, only to find the Trial Captains and Hau easily defeated by the rampaging Ultra Beasts.
  • Guzma reveals he is in possession of another Cosmog, which he uses to open more Ultra Wormholes to summon more Ultra Beasts.
  • Gladion appears and demands that Guzma tell him where he received Cosmog from.
  • On the outskirts of Ula'ula Island, Professor Kukui, worried about what might be happening at Po Town, drives his yacht to find a place to dock.
  • Moon tells Kukui to drive as close to Ula'ula as he can so she can use Rowlet to fly her to Po Town.
Truth and the Mastermind Behind Team Skull
  • Gladion uses Type: Null to battle the Ultra Beasts, which it does with ease as it was created by Aether Foundation specifically for that purpose.
  • Gladion reveals that Lusamine is the one behind the Ultra Beasts incidents and dreams of making a paradise just for her and the Ultra Beasts she loves.
  • Moon arrives at Po Town and asks Gladion if he's telling the truth.
  • A Xurkitree appears from an Ultra Wormhole and begins attacking everyone while a Nihilego also appears and drags Guzma with it into another Ultra Wormhole.
  • The other four Ultra Beasts escape Po Town's barrier and begin causing havoc around Ula'ula Island.
  • The Captains ask Gladion to help them, but he refuses and heads off.
