where did all these classifications even come from? they aren't on the main website whatsoever. 0danmaster0 (talk) 09:01, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

You mean their species names? They are translations of their Japanese species names from the Japanese site.--Den Zen 09:05, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Yeah I meant their species name. thanks for the answer0danmaster0 (talk) 09:10, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

One thing: Skrelp is most likely based of a leafy sea dragon. Glad I could help.- unsigned comment from Magic0loc0 (talkcontribs)

I think it is more based on the weedy seadragon. Yamitora1 (talk) 15:51, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Skrelp Name Origin

While I am sure half of it is based on Kelp, the Scrawny part seems...to be a stretch. Maybe its Skewer, since they seem to be a predatory, poison-type Pokémon.

other possibilities: Skelp, to slap; Skelp, sheet or plate metal that has been curved and welded to form a tube [perhaps from Scottish Gaelic sgealb thin strip of wood] ; Skelp a heavy fall of rain. Yamitora1 (talk) 15:37, 12 June 2013 (UTC) Maybe its a corruption of Scrap as well? Yamitora1 (talk) 17:11, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Korean name for Skrelp

Its Korean name is 수레기 Suregi. -- Nick15 (talk) 18:12, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

  • 수(水) su means water. Also, I fairly certain its name is based on 쓰레기 sseu'regi, meaning "rubbish", "trash".
  • Incidentally, Koreans are getting a real kick out of its name. -- Nick15 (talk) 18:58, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

name origin

one of the defintions for screen is "To conceal from view with or as if with a screen." it disguises itself as kelp. 0danmaster0 (talk) 22:42, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Pokédex entry X

The Pokédex entry for X reads "Camouflaged as rotten kelp, they spray liquid poison on prey that approaches unaware and then finishes it off." Is that even correct English? Is says "THEY SPRAY ... and then FINISHES it off". First it's plural, then it's singular. Can somebody please check this? Unfortunately, you'll have to trade for one first... Thank you! Just traded for a Skrelp on X. Its entry is, verbatim, "Camouflaged as rotten kelp, they spray liquid poison on prey that approaches unawares and then finish it off," at least in the English version of the game. --Wynd Fox 05:44, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
I probably should've mentioned this before, but I corrected it. Thanks for noticing the error. --Wynd Fox 05:47, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for checking this! I'm glad it's clear now.Thomasdenhaan (talk) 16:22, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
