Talk:Marina (Johto)

Her English name is unknown, although when Jun'ichi appeared in the Silver Conference, he referred to "Dani and Yoshi". This may be her and Kenta (who he mentioned at this point in the Japanese version), or it's possible it may be two different people completely.

This is a completely ridiculous assumption, and unless there's actually some reason to believe that Dani and Yoshi are anyone besides Marina and Kenta, it should be assumed that they are Marina and Kenta. --Ketsuban

Now that her English name has been revealed as Marina, I'm not sure how much of that pragraph to edit out, as I think it should still be mentionned - MTC 06:17, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

I've updated the paragraph in question to note that there was initially some speculation but that her "official" name is Marina. --Blue Hiker

(Legend of Thunder) or (Johto)?

There aren't any other Marinas from Johto, are there? I'd imagine we should just change the parenthetical reference to be for Johto, not for the special she appeared in. After all, it's less typing, and everyone hates doing that when they know what they're linking... --TTEchidna 00:27, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Even Marina (anime) would work, unless there's another more important Marina --Nebula

Well, there's not a more important one, but there is a Marina from the Orange Islands. I'm in favor of renaming it Marina (Johto), as there are no other characters in Johto named Marina, to my knowledge anyway. --PAK Man Talk 20:13, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Jimmy should go along with this, too, since the only other Jimmy I see is the Hoenn one. TTEchidna 23:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Totodile

How can the Totodile that appeared in EP117 be Marina's Totodile? Jimmy, Vincent and Marina all got their Pokémon at the same time. But in the episode Chikorita was given before Ash came there. So they can't be the same. Plus I think the Chikorita went to Casey, not Vincent. JmathTalk 07:04, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

While I do agree, that it seems to be the case that professors only give three per group (in EP001 we saw the same, since Ash couldn't get the Squirtle he wanted), I think it's still worth mentioning that it could have been Marina's. TTEchidnaGSDS! 22:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
But the group all got their Pokémon together, not to mention that Chikorita from EP117 went to Casey rather than Vincent. --FabuVinny T-C-S 22:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, it does say "believed by some" on Wani-Wani's page... But of course, for that, you could say that Ash's Charmander might've originally been picked up in Pallet by Damian. I mean, it is possible. What do you think we should do with the reference? TTEchidnaGSDS! 22:47, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Alternate outfit

Her regular, LoT outfit is reminiscent of Kris's Crystal outfit, but when she appears in the Pokétch ad, it's a completely different one. Is this an pre-post AG thing, or could it indicate something like what happened to Gary's outfit? TTEchidnaGSDS! 21:32, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Like, GSDS? I guess not. -うずまき ハルカ 21:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, since she appeared in DP041 with the regular LoT one again, in a contest nonetheless. But the question is, WHY does she have the different outfit? TTEchidnaGSDS! 22:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Maybe just for style? -うずまき ハルカ 22:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I guess... She appeared in the movie cameos with her LoT clothes, right? TTEchidnaGSDS! 22:49, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
I believe she did. Anyway, it's an advertisement. When modelling or showcasing items for the media, most agents/photographers/photoshoot coordinators/whoever aren't going to let you just strut around in your street clothes. They're going to put you in an outfit of their choosing. ArcToraphim 01:47, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
True, but this is fictional. TTEchidnaGSDS! 07:12, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
You are obviously trying to imply that this counts as another proof that the remakes are forthcoming, and that it even offers a glimpse into the female player's attire. I believe we can do with one less means of proof in favor of the knowledge that the female player will be accommodated with less trashy clothing. --Unown Lord
Fictional or not, the animators took creative licencing to chance her outfit for a still-shot that has no consequence or relevance, save what she was promoting, which the clothing doesn't effect anyway. Now if she were wearing that outfit during her animated cameo as a coordinator, using Feraligatr and Jigglypuff, you'd have an actual reason to be prodding at it. Trainer Class

Wouldn't it be better to say that Marina was a Pokemon Idol? She says she want's to be one, and now it's an official Trainer Class. Corvy 20:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

But it has nothing to do with the in-game Trainer Class. --Maxim (talk) 06:47, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
