Release information

This card was first released as one of the XY Black Star Promos on November 15, 2013 in the Sylveon Collection. It was later reprinted with new artwork by the same illustrator as part of the English XY Trainer Kit. Both prints were subsequently released in Japan as XY-P Promotional cards. The print originating as a XY Black Star Promo was awarded to those who accumulated 7 Play Points by participating in various events held as part of the Battle Festa 2014. Eligible events included the Victory Battle Gym MIX, the 3 on 3 Battle, the Tag Battle, the One Day Battle, and the Minigame Corner. Typically, one Play Point would be awarded for entering an event, with 2 points awarded for each win, and a further 3 Play Points for a 3-match winning streak. The Battle Festa 2014 was held at five locations across Japan: ACT CITY Hamamatsu Exhibition Event Hall, Shizuoka on October 26, 2014; Sunshine City Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo on the weekend of November 1-2, 2014; Kumamoto City Distribution and Information Hall, Kumamoto on November 9, 2014; Intex Osaka, Osaka on November 16, 2014; and Dream Messe Miyagi, Sendai on November 24, 2014. This print also features the Battle Festa 2014 logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. It was awarded again to the top three players at each commemorative Battle Festa 2014 Satellite Gym Battle event held at supporting Pokémon Card Gym locations across Japan. These took place on November 1, 2, 9, 16, and 24, 2014.

The print originating from the XY Trainer Kit was available at participating Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores in conjunction with the launch of the Pokémon Time Eevee Collection on June 6, 2015. Customers who purchased ¥1,000 worth of Pokémon Trading Card Game merchandise in-store from this date were given this card. This print features the Pokémon Center logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

Trivia

Sylveon is the only card to ever receive two English exclusive prints without even being announced for release in Japan at the time. The first Japanese release of the card came almost one year to the date after the first English printing.

Origin

Disarming Voice and Fairy Wind are both moves in the Pokémon games that Sylveon can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon X.
