Gloom debuted in ''[[EP026|Pokémon Scent-sation!]]'', under the ownership of [[Erika]]. {{Ash}} rescued it from the [[Celadon Gym]] when it went up in flames because of {{TRT}}. Erika first met Gloom when it saved her from a {{p|Grimer}} when she was a girl. According to this episode, Gloom is a very useful Pokémon. Erika uses Gloom's stench as a recipe for creating perfume. It reappeared in flashbacks in ''[[EP039|Pikachu's Goodbye]]'' and the Japanese version of ''[[EP273|Gotta Catch Ya Later!]]''.
A Gloom appeared in ''[[Florinda]]EP068|Make hasRoom afor Gloom]]'', whichunder the ownership of [[Florinda]]. She sheinitially wanted to evolve it into a {{p|Vileplume}} in ''[[EP068|Make Room for Gloom]]''. However, Florinda eventually decided it didn't need to evolve after it beat Team Rocket with its powerful {{m|Solar Beam}} attack. It reappeared in a flashback in ''[[EP225|Bulbasaur... the Ambassador!]]''.
A Gloom appeared in ''[[EP107|Pokémon Food Fight!]]'', under the ownership of [[Gulzar]]. Ash tried to battle it with {{AP|Charizard}}, but he sent {{AP|Squirtle}} and then {{AP|Snorlax}} out by mistake, which resulted in {{p|Snorlax}} trying to eat Gloom's leaves.
A {{pkmn|Coordinator}}'s Gloom appeared in ''[[AG160|Harley Rides Again]]''.
A Gloom appeared in ''[[AG188|Pinch Healing!]]'' as a Pokémonresident living atof [[Fennel Valley]].
A Coordinator's Gloom appeared in ''[[AG191|Once More With Reeling!]]'', where it was seen participating in the {{to|Terracotta}} {{pkmn|Contest}}.
