In Japan, this card was one of eight possible S-P Promotional cards available in promotional packs awarded to participants of Pokémon Card Gym tournaments held during September, October, and November 2020. This print features the Pokémon Card Gym logo.

Origin
Sordward and his brother Shielbert are characters in Pokémon Sword and Shield who claim to be descendants of the first kings of Galar. The altar at Slumbering Weald is featured in the illustration.
