Pokémon Trading Card Game merchandise associated with the ninth generation began in November 2022 shortly after the release of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games. The following is a chronological list of TCG-related items made available during the Scarlet & Violet Series.
The first release of English Scarlet & Violet Series cards was the Paldea Collection on January 6, 2023. The promotional box came in three principal varieties featuring the Paldeafirst partner Pokémon: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. The focal Pokémon of each box was depicted on an enamel pin and a new SVP Black Star Promo, while the other two first partner Pokémon were sourced from the upcoming Scarlet & Violet set, albeit with a product-exclusive Holofoil treatment. Each collection was also enclosed with a redacted Jumbo-sized card featuring either Koraidon or Miraidon as a teaser for the Pokémon ex mechanic, a code card for Pokémon TCG Live, and four booster packs. Packs typically comprised two Silver Tempest and two Brilliant Stars.
Accompanying the release of the Mimikyu ex Box on March 3, 2023 was the Mimikyu ex Showcase. This product included the same standard-sized Mimikyu ex promotional card but lacked the oversized version and the variant Greavard card. Each showcase also came with three booster packs and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. First production runs typically included two Silver Tempest packs and one Evolving Skies pack. Another production run began appearing in stores as early as April 2024, which came with one pack each of Silver Tempest, Lost Origin, and Brilliant Stars. The Mimikyu card in later production runs also appeared to have a more pronounced star Holofoil pattern in comparison to those from initial runs of the Mimikyu ex Showcase and the Mimikyu ex Box.
Prerelease Tournaments for the first expansion of the Scarlet & Violet Series were hosted by locations in the Prerelease Program on the weekends of March 18-19 and 25-26, 2023. All paying entrants were given a Scarlet & Violet Build & Battle Box to use in the event, which was packaged with four Scarlet & Violet booster packs, a 40-card ready-to-play deck built around one of four possible SVP Black Star Promos, a deck-building tip sheet, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. Locations were permitted to sell additional boxes at events.
The Pokémon Company International provided their distribution partners with Hobby Co-Op Marketing Kits for their retail customers to use in stores. The first kit for the Series contained materials to help promote the Scarlet & Violet expansion, which launched on March 31, 2023. Marketing Kits were free to order but retailers were still required to cover shipping costs. The kits were limited to one per store and were not intended for resale. Each kit included:
A 17" × 22" Double Sided Poster featuring Koraidon and Miraidon key expansion artwork.
A 5" × 5" Window Cling with images of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
A pack of 50 Stickers featuring a single Pokémon and the Pokémon Trading Card Game logo. Five designs were available: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Pikachu, and Lechonk.
A pack of 40 Postcards featuring the four pieces of key artwork created for the set.
A pack of 25 Ultra Pro Toploaders with the Pokémon Trading Card Game logo.
Scarlet & Violet Blisters
Scarlet & Violet was officially released on March 31, 2023 and its launch was accompanied by a variety of blister packs. Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters featured SVP Black Star Promos originating from the Japanese Let's Start Playing Pokémon Card Game Campaign, while Premium Checklane and Stage 1 Blisters were packaged with straight reprints from the Lost Origin expansion. Spidops and Espathra cards could be obtained from Single Pack Blisters; Arcanine and Dondozo cards could be found in Three Pack Blisters; the evolutionary lines of Gengar and Machamp were included in Premium Checklane Blisters; and the evolutionary lines of HisuianZoroark and Hisuian Arcanine were included in Stage 1 Blisters. All varieties were packaged with a Pokémon Trading Card Game Live code card, and all except the Three Pack Blisters were packaged with a Jumbo Fuecococoin. Retailer images for the Premium Checklane Blisters featured a Quaxly coin.
Initial waves of the Single and Three Pack Blisters included promo cards printed on Smooth Cosmos Holofoil paper. A subsequent production run that became available in mid-2024 included Spidops, Arcanine, and Dondozo cards printed on Pixel Cosmos Holofoil paper following the transition at TPCI's facilities (see Paldea Evolved Blisters for the first instance of this in the Series).
A pair of Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Boxes were released concurrently with the Scarlet & Violet expansion on March 31, 2023, featuring either Koraidon or Miraidon. A single box came packaged with nine Scarlet & Violet booster packs, 65 card sleeves, 45 Basic Energy cards, a Scarlet & Violet Player's Guide, six damage counter dice, one competition-legal coin-flip die, two plastic condition markers, four dividers, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. ETBs also came with a full-art foil promo card of either Koraidon or Miraidon, which were previously released as Triplet Beat Sealed Battle Promos in Japan. The online Pokémon Center stores also sold exclusive Scarlet & Violet Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Boxes from the same day. Compared to the standard version, these boxes included two more Scarlet & Violet booster packs and an additional full-art foil promo card featuring either Koraidon or Miraidon with a Pokémon Center logo stamp.
Booster Display Boxes, often referred to as Booster Boxes, are the most common way for consumers to initially obtain cards from standard expansions. When opened, their lids can be folded back and positioned upright, creating a display ideal for countertops. The Pokémon Company International produced two types of Scarlet & Violet Booster Display Box ready for the Scarlet & Violet expansion on March 31, 2023—standard 36-pack displays for the majority of their markets and 18-pack display options primarily for European markets.

Trade and Play Kit
Following on from similar events held during the Sun & Moon Series and Sword & Shield Series, various stores in North America hosted Trade and Play events during the Scarlet & Violet Series. The target audience for these events was children new to the TCG, providing them the opportunity to meet, trade, and battle with others. Participants were given a free Trade and Play Kit while stocks lasted, a cardboard folder enclosed with a three-card Fun Pack, three activity sheets, a Jumbo-sized Gold Mirror Holofoil Fuecococoin, and "A Guide to Trading Cards" information sheet. Each Fun Pack contained two Common cards plus one Parallel Holofoil card from the Scarlet & Violet expansion.
Each "A Guide to Trading Cards" provides a breakdown of card rarity in the Scarlet & Violet Series, plus a general rarity breakdown of cards from older Series, a brief explanation of what Pokémon ex, Full Art cards, and illustration rare cards are, and an annotated trading card complete with type guide. The activity sheets offered a total of six challenges:
Picture Copy – Copy the image of Fidough using the 4×4 grid of squares.
Sudoku – Complete the 6×6 Sudoku grid using the remaining Pokémon images.
Evolution Maze – Follow the numbers from 1 to 20 to help Girafarig evolve into Farigiraf.
Shadow Match – Identify the silhouettes of various Generation IX Pokémon.
Logic Puzzle – Determine the race finishing positions of four Pokémon using the clues provided.
Weighing Problem – Determine the combined weight of Wiglett and Fidough using simple math.
The kits were available first at participating Toys "R" Us stores within Macy's department stores and were given away on April 1, 2023 as part of a three-day Easter event.[1] They were also distributed as part of Geoffrey's Tour Across America, which was present at seven select Toys "R" Us locations along the east coast between July 20 and 29, 2023,[2][3] as well as at participating Toys "R" Us locations on October 14, 2023 as part of a seven-day event to celebrate Toys "R" Us mascot Geoffrey's birthday.[4] The kits were also given away at Pokémon Trade & Play events hosted by participating GameStop stores on October 7, 2023.[5] Other approved Play! Pokémon retailers held Trade & Play events sporadically throughout the Series. Updated Trade and Play Kits began to be distributed at events at some point in 2024.

Paldea Evolved Blisters
Paldea Evolved was officially released on June 9, 2023 and its launch was accompanied by a variety of blister packs. Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters featured SVP Black Star Promos previously released in the Japanese Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Pack 1 (except for Tinkatink, which was sourced from the Japanese Clay Burst expansion), while Premium Checklane and Stage 1 Blisters were packaged with straight reprints from the Scarlet & Violet expansion. Smoliv and Growlithe cards could be obtained from Single Pack Blisters; Tinkatink and Varoom cards could be found in Three Pack Blisters; and the evolutionary lines of Arboliva and Pawmot were included in Premium Checklane Blisters. Stage 1 Blisters featuring either Charcadet and Armarouge or Tatsugiri and Dondozo were also available in stores such as Target. All blisters included a code card for Pokémon TCG Live, and all except the Three Pack Blisters were packaged with a Jumbo-sized Quaxlycoin.
As with initial waves of the Scarlet & Violet Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters, the featured Smoliv, Growlithe, Tinkatink, and Varoom promotional cards were printed on Smooth-style Cosmos Holofoil paper. This Holofoil had been in use since early November 2013, debuting on cards available in Legendary Treasures merchandise and phasing out the Pixel-style Cosmos Holofoil first used on English cards in Base Set 2. In an unexpected move, The Pokémon Company International began to use the Pixel Cosmos Holofoil paper again starting with the Single Pack Blisters, resulting in Smoliv and Growlithe being available in both Smooth and Pixel Cosmos Holofoil—something not seen since the Plasma Storm Rerelease and Kanto Two Pack Blisters in the XY Series. In a similar vein, the Arboliva, Pawmot, Armarouge, and Dondozo cards feature the Sword & Shield Series-style Line Holofoil, different to that of their in-set Mirage Holofoil prints.
The Cosmos Holofoil transition saw more cards printed using both styles as new products were released, most notably on those associated with the special 151 expansion. The transition appeared to be complete by the time Paradox Rift products launched in early November 2023. Merchandise first released prior to the change subsequently began to feature cards with the Pixel-style paper in later production runs. A run of the Paldea Evolved Three Pack Blisters in mid-2024 included Pixel Cosmos Holofoil versions of Varoom.
The Paldea Evolved Elite Trainer Box was released concurrently with the Paldea Evolved expansion on June 9, 2023, featuring the Paldea first partner Pokémon. A single box came packaged with nine Paldea Evolved booster packs, 65 card sleeves, 45 Basic Energy cards, a Paldea Evolved Player's Guide, six damage counter dice, one competition-legal coin-flip die, two plastic condition markers, four dividers, and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Live. Boxes also came with a full-art foil promo card of Pikachu, which was an early purchase bonus for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in Japan. The online Pokémon Center stores also sold an exclusive Paldea Evolved Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box from the same day. Compared to the standard version, this box included two more Paldea Evolved booster packs and an additional full-art foil promo card featuring Pikachu with a Pokémon Center logo stamp.
Paldea Evolved Booster Display Boxes (often referred to as Paldea Evolved Booster Boxes) were released on June 9, 2023 and contained multiple booster packs for the Paldea Evolved expansion. Standard displays contained 36 packs, while half displays containing 18 packs were also available in European countries.

Paldea Legends Tins
The Paldea Legends Tins were released on June 9, 2023, which featured the LegendaryParadox PokémonKoraidon and Miraidon. As with several prior iterations of tins, two designs were available: hexagonal tins packaged with five booster packs, and octagonal tins packaged with four booster packs. The larger hexagonal tins were typically more prevalent in territories such as North America and Oceania, whereas the smaller octagonal tins were more common in Europe—both varieties were available in each market however. Each tin included a promo card of either Koraidon ex or Miraidon ex, as well as a code card that could be used to unlock a digital version of it in Pokémon TCG Live. The promo cards were reprints of Koraidon ex and Miraidon ex from the Scarlet & Violet expansion with alternate artwork exclusive to regions outside Asia at the time. Booster pack selections for the larger tins usually comprised two Paldea Evolved, one Scarlet & Violet, one Silver Tempest, and one Brilliant Stars; pack selections for the smaller tins usually consisted of two Paldea Evolved, one Scarlet & Violet, and one Silver Tempest.
June 9, 2023 saw the release of a fourth Trainer's Toolkit. Like its predecessors, this product came with numerous staple cards for deck building. The Toolkit included 58 cards to power up decks, including reprints of Arceus V and Arceus VSTAR from Brilliant Stars with new and exclusive artwork. The box was also packaged with four booster packs (typically two Paldea Evolved, one Scarlet & Violet, and one Silver Tempest), more than 100 Basic Energy cards, 65 card sleeves, a deck builder's guide, six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, two Special Condition markers, an acrylic VSTAR marker, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. The Toolkit provided one copy of Arceus V and Arceus VSTAR, and two copies of all other cards listed below.
The Paldea Evolved Build & Battle Stadium released on June 23, 2023. Each of these two-player kits included a pair of Paldea Evolved Build & Battle Boxes, three more Paldea Evolved booster packs, 121 Basic Energy cards, six damage-counter dice, one competition-legal coin-flip die, and two plastic condition markers.
The Chien-Pao & Tinkaton ex Battle Decks released on July 14, 2023. Each deck included a ready-to-play 60-card deck, three reference cards, one rules booklet, a single-player playmat, damage counters, a large metallic coin, deck box, strategy sheet, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. The Chien-Pao promo is a reprint of Chien-Pao ex from Paldea Evolved with alternate artwork that had yet to be released in Japan at the time of the deck's launch. Tinkaton originated from the Japanese Clay Burst expansion and was cut from Paldea Evolved during localization and made into an SVP Black Star Promo.
The Annihilape ex Box was released on July 14, 2023 and came with an Annihilape ex SVP Black Star Promo, which originated from the Japanese Snow Hazard expansion and was cut from Paldea Evolved during localization. The box also included Pixel Cosmos Holofoil versions of Mankey and Primeape from Paldea Evolved, four booster packs, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. The box featured a new, more compact design and, for the first time since the release of the Garchomp-EX Box in the XY Series, did not come with a Jumbo card. Typical booster pack selections comprised two Paldea Evolved, one Scarlet & Violet, and one Lost Origin.
Starting July 28, 2023, retailers began hosting Prerelease Tournaments for the Obsidian Flames expansion and distributed Obsidian Flames Build & Battle Boxes to participants. Each box was packaged with four Obsidian Flames booster packs, a 40-card ready-to-play deck built around one of four possible SVP Black Star Promos, a deck-building tip sheet, and a Pokémon TCG Live code card.
Two types of product were released on August 4, 2023 in anticipation of the start of a new school year. The first being a Back to School Pencil Case featuring Pikachu and the Paldea first partner Pokémon. Each case came with two booster packs and is capable of storing pens and pencils (which were not included in the product). Secondly, two different Back to School Eraser Blisters were released, which also included two booster packs and came with a Lechonk or Smoliv eraser. August 4, 2023 saw the release of a new Collector Chest, featuring artwork of the PaldeaLegendary PokémonKoraidon and Miraidon, and Paldea first partner PokémonSprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. These Pokémon were also portrayed on a number of the chest's contents, including Mirage Holofoil variant cards of the first partner Pokémon, four sticker sheets, a coin featuring either Koraidon or Miraidon, and a mini portfolio. Unlike the previous iteration, this chest did not include a notebook, and instead included an additional booster pack for a total of six (typically two each of Silver Tempest, Scarlet & Violet, and Paldea Evolved). Each chest also came with a Pokémon TCG Live code card.
The Enhanced 2-Pack Blister, featuring Armarouge, Revavroom & Houndstone, was released on August 4, 2023 and came with three Mirage Holofoil cards sourced straight from the Scarlet & Violet expansion. Blisters were also packaged with a pair of booster packs (one Lost Origin and one Silver Tempest), a Jumbo-sized Fuecococoin, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.

Obsidian Flames was officially released on August 11, 2023 and its launch was accompanied by a variety of blister packs. Single Pack and Three Pack Blisters featured SVP Black Star Promos previously released as Japanese promo cards (except for Paldean Wooper, which was sourced from the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame expansion), while the Premium Checklane and Stage 1 Blisters were packaged with straight reprints from the Scarlet & Violet expansion. Pawmi and PaldeanWooper cards could be obtained from Single Pack Blisters; Houndstone and Eevee cards could be found in Three Pack Blisters; and the evolutionary lines of Annihilape and Kingambit were included in Premium Checklane Blisters. The evolutionary lines of Houndstone and Revavroom were included in Stage 1 Blisters, despite their highest Stage Evolution cards also being available in Two Pack Blisters a week prior. All varieties were packaged with a code card for the Pokémon TCG Live, and all except the Three Pack Blisters were packaged with a Jumbo Sprigatitocoin.
Initial waves of the Three Pack Blisters included Houndstone and Eevee promo cards printed on Smooth Cosmos Holofoil paper. Later production runs that began to appear on shelves in mid-2024 included cards printed on Pixel Cosmos Holofoil paper following the transition at TPCI's facilities.

Paldea Partners Tins
Different versions of the Paldea Partners Tins were released on September 1, 2023, featuring the final Evolutions of the Paldeafirst partner Pokémon. The larger hexagonal tins came with five booster packs, whereas the smaller octagonal tins came with four booster packs. Each variety was packaged with a SV Black Star Promo of either Meowscarada ex, Skeledirge ex, or Quaquaval ex, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. The promo cards were alternate-art reprints of Pokémon ex from the Paldea Evolved expansion that had yet to be released in Japan at the time of the tins' launch.
Initial production runs of the larger tins usually came with two Obsidian Flames packs and one pack each of Scarlet & Violet, Silver Tempest, and Astral Radiance. Later production runs included three Obsidian Flames packs, one Paldea Evolved pack, and one Scarlet & Violet pack. The smaller tins came with two Obsidian Flames packs, one Scarlet & Violet pack, and one Astral Radiance pack. The packaging securing the promo card in these tins featured a yellow hexagonal pattern; the tin design featured both the Pokémon Trading Card Game logo and the Pokémon ex logo on the bottom edge. A variant of the smaller tins was released in Walmart stores not long after, which were comparatively shallower. The bottom edge of these tins just featured the TCG logo, with the Pokémon ex logo appearing on the bottom left edge; these tins also featured plain black packaging for the promo card. The Walmart tins carried slightly different packs, which comprised two Obsidian Flames packs, one Silver Tempest, and one Lost Origin.
The Meowscarada ex & Quaquaval ex Deluxe Battle Decks were released on September 1, 2023. Each deck included a ready-to-play 60-card deck, a single-player playmat, damage counters, a large metallic coin, two condition markers, a deck box, strategy sheet, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. Both decks featured three foil cards: two copies of Meowscarada ex and one copy of Radiant Alakazam were included in the Meowscarada deck, while the Quaquaval deck featured two copies of Quaquaval ex and one copy of Radiant Greninja. The decks did not come with any Black Star Promo cards, but instead only featured reprinted cards from previously released expansions. Being classified as Play Level 2, the decks are aimed at players that have at least some familiarity with the TCG.
The Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle was made available from September 1, 2023 in anticipation of Halloween and was marketed as an alternative to candy for trick-or-treating. The 2023 Trick or Trade release comprises 30 different Pokémon cards sourced from the Sword & Shield, Rebel Clash, Vivid Voltage, Evolving Skies, Lost Origin, Silver Tempest, Scarlet & Violet, and Paldea Evolved expansions, most of which could be associated with Halloween. Each card retains its original set number, but differs by featuring a Pikachu jack-o'-lantern stamp on its artwork. Initial bundles contained 50 three-card mini booster packs; chains such as Costco began to sell bundles containing 120 mini packs midway through September 2023. The bundle and mini booster packaging feature corporate art of a Mimikyu looming over a Pikachu. This was the second consecutive year TPCI released a BOOster Bundle.

Poké Ball Tin Bundle
Amazon'sUK Pokémon Store listed two official TPCIPoké Ball Tin Bundles that coincided with the release of Series 9 Poké Ball Tins on September 22, 2023.[7][8] Unlike the comparable Poké Ball Tin 3-Packs made for Costco, outer boxes were featureless, save a TPCI product sticker, and could therefore be shipped without any additional packaging. The interior of the outer box lid was red and featured the Pokémon Trading Card Game logo. Tins were placed in an open-faced inner box similar to the Costco boxes, but were black in color. Two bundles were available: one included a Poké Ball tin, a Great Ball tin, and an Ultra Ball tin; the other included a Poké Ball tin, a Lure Ball tin, and a Premier Ball tin. Their product codes and contents were the same as the Series 9 tins. Bundles also included a large sticker sheet featuring the ten Pokémon that could be found as individual stickers in the tins, as well as a flyer that detailed the bundle contents on one side and featured a promotion for Pokémon Horizons: The Series on the other.
Another pair of bundles was released on October 18, 2024 shortly following the tenth series of Poké Ball Tins. The tin designs and contents mirrored those available across Series 10, with one bundle comprising a Poké Ball Tin, Great Ball Tin, and Ultra Ball Tin, and the other containing a Poké Ball Tin, a Premier Ball Tin, and a Moon Ball Tin.[9][10]

2023 Pokémon World Championships Decks
The Pokémon World Championships were held in Japan for the first time in 2023. To commemorate the event, four 2023 Pokémon World Championships Decks were made available from March 1, 2024, which replicated decks used by title contenders in the TCG competition. These included Masters champion Vance Kelley's Mew's Revenge Deck, Masters runner-up Tord Reklev's Psychic Elegance Deck, Seniors champion Gabriel Fernandez's Colorless Lugia Deck, and Juniors champion Shao Tong Yen's Lost Box Kyogre Deck. The cards within each deck featured silver foil borders and competitor signatures, as well as a non-standard reverse with the 2023 Pokémon World Championships logo. Each deck was also packaged with a booklet about the competition, a playmat and poster, a Pokémon Trading Card Game Live code card, plus a 2023 Pokémon World Championships-themed pin, coin, and deck box.
The Pokémon Company International made a new type of product for release on March 1, 2024—the Paldea Adventure Chest. The chest is adorned with images of Pikachu, Sprigatito, Maushold, and Pawmot, as are a number of its contents, which included a sheet of tech stickers, a mini portfolio, a deck box, a squishy Pikachu toy, and a selection of seven promotional cards. These cards comprised Sprigatito ex and PikachuSVP Black Star Promos, yet to be released in Japan at the time; three Cosmos Holofoil variant cards from the Paldea Evolved expansion; and two more Pokémon ex cards, straight reprints from the Obsidian Flames and Paradox Rift expansions. The chest also came with six booster packs (typically two Paradox Rift, two Obsidian Flames, one Paldea Evolved, and one Scarlet & Violet) and a Pokémon TCG Live code card, which would unlock digital versions of the enclosed promotional cards. The Pikachu promo and three Cosmos Holofoil variants were sealed in plastic wrapping together, while the Pokémon ex cards were individually sealed and seated in a foldable three-frame display.
Prerelease Tournaments for the fifth main expansion of the Scarlet & Violet Series, Temporal Forces, were held on the weekends of March 9–10 and 16-17, 2024. These events served as a preview for the expansion and all attendees were given a Temporal Forces Build & Battle Box upon entry. Each box was enclosed with a 40-card deck that included an exclusive SVP Black Star Promo, four Temporal Forces booster packs, a deck-building tip sheet, and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Live.
Warehouse club Costco also began to stock another official 2-pack from mid- to late March 2024 that contained copies of the Paldea Legends Tins first released in June 2023. Two configurations were available: one contained a large Koraidon tin and a small Miraidon tin; the other contained a large Miraidon tin and a small Koraidon tin. Typical pack selections differed slightly to their original releases, with large tins coming with two Paldea Evolved packs and three Silver Tempest packs, and small tins coming with two Paldea Evolved packs and two Silver Tempest packs.

The artwork was one of two pieces first used as part of the Japanese Battle Start! merchandise campaign, which launched on January 20, 2022. A couple of TCG items were subsequently released to promote the Japanese Star Birth expansion.
Eevee & Umbreon Twilight collection: The artwork on these items features silhouettes of Eevee and Umbreon as they watch the crescent moon rise over the hills of the Johto region. Several other Pokémon native to Johto are depicted in the background.
Two more lines were released on July 26 that featured the Flame Pokémon Charizard.
Scorching Charizard merchandise: These items were part of the TCG Premium Accessories collection. Many of the storage solutions feature an embossed charcoal-colored exterior and an orange lining with flame patterns.
The Scorching Charizard Premium Deck Box can store a full deck of 60 sleeved cards, as well as smaller TCG accessories. The box can be secured shut with embedded magnets.
The Scorching Charizard Premium Double Deck Box consists of a double deck box holder that can hold two fully-sleeved 60-card decks.
