Hisashi and Tsukiya

(Japanese: ヒサシ Hisashi) and (Japanese: ツキヤ Tsukiya) are characters of the day who appeared as silhouettes in a flashback and on a painting in JN079.

Hisashi and Tsukiya were brothers who lived in Johto a long time ago. At one point, Hisashi was appointed the title of lord of Eclipse Castle. As Hisashi was giving a speech to a crowd of people at the castle during the Eclipse Festival, he was attacked by his younger brother Tsukiya, who tried to dethrone Hisashi and take over the castle. Hisashi's Espeon and Umbreon managed to protect their Trainer however, and the castle was saved. To celebrate their bravery, Hisashi made a crest engraved in the castle honoring his two Pokémon.

The failure of his coup ashamed Tsukiya, after which he and his family decided to go into hiding. Many generations later, Hisashi and Tsukiya both had descendants continuing their legacies. Hisashi's descendants Himari and Haruhi were the new lords of Eclipse Castle, while Tsukiya's descendant Katsuki still lived with the shame of his ancestor and tried to prevent Haruhi from becoming the new lord. After a Pokémon battle, Himari and Haruhi recognized Katsuki as the descendant of Tsukiya and convinced him to change his ways, after which Haruhi was able to become the new lord of Eclipse Castle.
