Browt (Japanese: ハブロウ Habrow) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation X.

Along with Pombon and Gecqua, Browt is one of the three first partner Pokémon available at the beginning of Pokémon Winds and Waves. They were also the first Generation X Pokémon to be revealed to the public on February 27, 2026, through a Pokémon Presents video presentation.

Biology

Browt is a small, avian Pokémon whose body is mostly covered in fluffy, yellow down. It has a large head with a prominent crest, tiny wings, and large, fluffy tail feathers. Its bottom half is entirely black, including its feet and claws; each foot has two toes on the front and one on the back. Browt's most distinguishing feature is the green leaves that form its eyebrows, which appear to grow from the top of its beak, which is also green.

Browt uses its eyebrow leaves to photosynthesize. It is energetic and lively, but also rather clumsy.[1]

Trivia

Origin

Browt appears to be based on a bird chick and a sprouting bean. Given its category as the Bean Chick Pokémon (Japanese: まめひよこポケモン Mame Hiyoko Pokémon), it may be a visual pun on the chickpea (Japanese: 雛豆 / ヒヨコマメ hiyoko mame), a type of bean. It could also be a pun on the peafowl.

Name origin

Browt may be a combination of eyebrow and bean sprout.

Habrow may be a combination of 葉 ha (leaf), ハーブ herb, and eyebrow.
