Skill
Delays your opponent's disruptions.

Flap (Japanese: はばたく Flap) is a skill in Pokémon Shuffle.

Activation

This skill can activate only if the current "phase" of the enemy's AI is capable of disrupting.

Enemy AI in Shuffle occurs in "phases", where the rules for when and what they can disrupt change.

  • For example, Lucario in expert stage 3 is unable to disrupt during its "phase 1". When it has 3,000 or less HP remaining, it will transition to "phase 2", where it will disrupt with some breakable-rocks if a combo shorter than 3 is performed.
  • In this case, the skill cannot activate during Lucario's phase 1, but it can activate during phase 2.

There are no type-based immunities to Disruption Delay - only AI-based, as described above.

If a Pokémon already has any status condition, then this skill will not activate.

Effect

When activated, this skill inflicts Disruption Delay (DD) for 1 move.

A Pokémon under DD cannot use any disruptions, and its disruption countdown is paused.

DD uses the same visual effect as the status paralysis, but they are different statuses.

  • That said, skill-inflicted DD does count for activating the skill Paralysis Combo.

Note that a foe's current status condition will tick down its duration after a move is made, but before the second hit onwards of the move's resulting combo. This can result in the status effect being active for the first match of the combo, but being inactive for the subsequent matches in the same combo.

  • Since this skill inflicts a 1-turn status effect, this issue will always occur if attempting to activate Paralysis Combo or Relentless off of it. The skill can activate, but the enemy's DD will fade before the second hit of the combo, meaning the damage boost no longer applies.

Skill level growth

Increasing skill level will increase the damage dealt by the initial match.
