Furfrou (Japanese: トリミアン Trimmien) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.
While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, Furfrou has ten different forms.
Furfrou can have its hair trimmed into nine different styles, changing its appearance from its Natural Form into one of the following trims, each named after the style its fur is trimmed and dyed in: Heart Trim, Star Trim, Diamond Trim, Debutante Trim, Matron Trim, Dandy Trim, La Reine Trim, Kabuki Trim, and Pharaoh Trim. Furfrou will revert into its Natural Form if five days have passed since it was trimmed. Other circumstances may also cause it to revert.
(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Form data for these details.)
Biology
Furfrou is a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon with thick, white fur that covers its black body apart from its paws and face. The fur is thicker and fluffier around its head and tail. It has round, red eyes with blue eyelids, a pointed snout with a round, light blue nose, and long rectangular ears. When its mouth is open, two pointed teeth can be seen on its upper jaw. Furfrou used to guard the king in the ancient times of Kalos and is known to be loyal to its Trainer.
Prior to Generation VII, Furfrou was the only known Pokémon that could have Fur Coat as an Ability.
Forms
Furfrou has ten different forms named after the style its fur is trimmed and dyed in: Natural Form, Heart Trim, Star Trim, Diamond Trim, Debutante Trim, Matron Trim, Dandy Trim, La Reine Trim, Kabuki Trim, and Pharaoh Trim.
It is commonly seen with its fur trimmed and dyed into various styles. However, only those it trusts are allowed to cut its fur. In the past, aristocrats would even compete over who could trim its fur into the most exquisite style. Cutting its fur increases the swiftness of its movements.

Form data
Furfrou has ten different forms. It is in its Natural Form by default and can be groomed into one of nine different trims: Heart Trim, Star Trim, Diamond Trim, Debutante Trim, Matron Trim, Dandy Trim, La Reine Trim, Kabuki Trim, and Pharaoh Trim.
It will remain with one of these trims for five days after being groomed, after which it will revert back to its Natural Form. Furfrou will also lose its trim when it is deposited in a Box (in Generation VI), withdrawn from a Box (in Generation VII), deposited in Pokémon Bank, or deposited in the Pokémon Day Care or Pokémon Nursery. However, it is possible to deposit trimmed Furfrou in Pokémon HOME by transfering it from Pokémon GO via the GO Transporter.
The location at which Furfrou can be groomed differs between games:
- In Pokémon X and Y, Furfrou can be groomed at Friseur Furfrou on Vernal Avenue in Lumiose City for $500. The player gains access to more trims as they become more stylish.
- In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Furfrou can be groomed at the Pokémon Fan Club in Slateport City for $500.
- In Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, Furfrou can be groomed for $500 by a Punk Girl at Malie City's salon or, in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, a Beauty at Hau'oli City's salon.
In Pokémon X and Y only, Furfrou's trims are not registered in the Pokédex.
