Location Location of Accumula Town in Unova.
|
Accumula Town (Japanese: カラクサタウン Karakusa Town) is a small town located in southeastern Unova. The town has two exits: to the south is Route 1, leading to Nuvema Town; to the west is Route 2, leading northwards to Striaton City.
In Pokémon Black and White, the town is where the player first encounters Team Plasma, Ghetsis, and N. When the player first enters the town, Professor Juniper stands outside the Pokémon Center, and Team Plasma Grunts prevent the player from continuing to Route 2. After the player speaks to Professor Juniper, entering the Pokémon Center to experience the tutorial, Ghetsis and Team Plasma will appear in the town square. Either approaching them or attempting to bypass them will automatically begin their speech.
Slogan
The Fast-Growing Town! (Japanese: 生い茂る ツルは 繁栄の証 Thick ivy is proof of prosperity.)
Places of interest
Town square
In the center of the town is an open, park-like area. It is here that Team Plasma makes their first speech in Black and White, and Ghetsis encourages the citizens of Accumula to release their Pokémon. After Ghetsis leaves, N appears out of the crowd and tries to listen and talk to the player's Pokémon. After he communicates with the player's Pokémon, he challenges the player to a battle.
Pokémon rock-paper-scissors
In a house in the north-west of town, there is a little girl who will challenge the player to a game of Pokémon rock-paper-scissors. Instead of using rock, paper, and scissors, this game uses Fire, Grass, and Water.
Demographics
Pokémon Black and White
Accumula Town has a total population of 30.
Pokémon Black 2 and White 2
Accumula Town now has a total population of 36.
Variable scoring
Piano and percussion tracks can be added to Accumula Town's background theme by speaking to a pianist and drummer residing in a house in the northeast section of town. In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, the piano track cannot be added until the player has shown the pianist both a Kricketot and a Whismur.

Pokémon the Series
Accumula Town appeared in The Battle Club and Tepig's Choice!, where it was visited by Ash and Iris. It was here where Ash visited a Battle Club for the first time and caught his Tepig, who had been abandoned by his former Trainer.
Pokémon Evolutions
Accumula Town appeared in a flashback in The Plan, where Ghetsis held a speech about Team Plasma's plans of Pokémon liberation there. The speech was watched by Hilda, Cheren, and N.
In the manga
Pocket Monsters BW: Good Partners
Accumula Town appeared in BWGP02, where Takurō and Mashiro met Professor Juniper there. When Takurō's bag was stolen by a Purrloin, he chased it and ended up saving it from falling off a cliff. Afterwards, Takurō befriended Purrloin and caught it.
Pokémon Adventures
Accumula Town first appeared in An Odd Speech. After arriving there, Black and White camped outside for the night while White's Tepig, Gigi, was given a hotel room due to her status as an actress in the BW Agency. The two were suddenly attacked by a Timburr, but the attack turned out to have been just Team Plasma setting up a stand, and they apologized for the damages and disturbance they had unintentionally caused for them. The next day, Ghetsis held a speech on the finished stand, imploring the people of Accumula Town to release their Pokémon. When some people indeed started doing this, several others followed suit, much to Black's shock.
In Letting Go, Black deduced that Team Plasma was holding similar speeches around Unova, basing his deduction on the fact that his Galvantula, Tula, had set up its trap close to a human residence, which seemed unusual for a wild Pokémon, since they avoid making too much human contact. As such, it must've belonged to a Trainer who released it recently after hearing a similar speech. Soon afterwards, Black was approached by N, who forced him to battle him. During the battle, N expressed his disgust at the thoughts of Pokémon being confined to Poké Balls and the Pokédex causing more Pokémon to be caught to complete its pages.
In Listening to Pokémon, Black countered N's thoughts with a passionate speech about how his Pokémon weren't suffering, as they shared his desire to defeat the Pokémon League, with the Pokédex allowing him to understand his Pokémon better. After Black's Tepig, Tep, had proven its determination by charging through N's Tympole's attack, N called off the battle and left. White was worried if N was a member of Team Plasma, but while Black wasn't certain whether he was or not, he had seen N's dream in his Munna's Dream Mist during the battle. Based on it, he decided that while N might've been wrong about them, he wasn't a bad guy.

Trivia
- A typographical error occurs in this town, when showing a tiny Pokémon to the Youngster who makes daily requests to see one: "Wow! Amazing! a <Pokémon species name> is so tiny!"
- The first battle with Lass Diana is the only Trainer battle in Black 2 and White 2 outside of a battle facility that has its levels unaffected by what difficulty level is used; rather, the levels are based solely on what the player trades. If an Excadrill that is lower than 65 is traded to Diana, the Excadrill in battle will be raised to level 65; if the Excadrill traded is at least 65, the Excadrill in battle will instead be raised by 5 levels, to a maximum of 100.
- Additionally, if the Excadrill and Hippowdon traded to her are nicknamed or Shiny, they will retain these factors when battling Diana.
