The XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios is a special Trainer Kit for the Pokémon Trading Card Game and features the Pokémon Latias and Latios. It was released on April 29, 2015. In the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online's Trainer Challenge, the two Half Decks are combined into a Theme Deck called Eon Strike, obtainable by redeeming the code from this kit.
Description
Latios and Latias lead the way in the Eon Strike Deck, combining their strength and speed to soar past the opposition! This deck brings together Fighting types like Machoke and Solrock, Grass types like Tangrowth and Lombre, and handy Trainer cards like Acro Bike into a team fully trained for battle. When the Eon Pokémon join forces, they are ready to strike down your opponent!
Information
The XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios is the third Trainer Kit released throughout the XY Series and features Latios and Latias, the Pokémon featured in the EX Trainer Kit released in June 2004. Like that Trainer Kit, the two cards are exclusive to the Trainer Kit. The Latias and Latios cards are the first English card of these Pokémon to be printed as Psychic-type. None of the cards have Rarity symbols and they each feature a collection number and set symbol exclusive to the kit. The collection numbers are the order of the cards in the two Half Decks for the example battle allowing for easy reset if the decks are accidentally shuffled prior to use for example battle.
Unlike the two other XY Trainer Kits, the price was increased from $8.99 to $9.99.
In addition to the Half Deck, this XY Trainer Kit also includes a deck box, rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a custom coin featuring the Hoenn first partners, and playmat. The kit also includes a Trainer Kit Guide, which takes players through an example battle. There is one guide for each of the Half Decks included. Starting August 1, 2015, a Gold Hoenn Starters Coin began to be included in place of the silver one.
