The 2012: Masters Division Challenge (Japanese: マスターせかいおうじゃに いどめ! Challenge the Master World Champion!) tournament features the top four contestants from Master Division from the World Championship Nationals that were held in Hawaii in August 2012. It is part of the series of tournaments based off of the tournament finalists. Its distribution began on November 18, 2012.

The tournament is conducted under Double Battle rules; therefore, the opponents will pick four of their six Pokémon to battle with. All Pokémon will be set to level 50. No duplicate Pokémon or held items are allowed, and no moves are banned. The Soul Dew is the only held item banned.

Due to an error in World Finalist Abel's team, a fixed version of the tournament has been released under the name 2012 Master Division Challenge (without the colon) since on November 20, 2012 for international releases.[1]

World Champion Ray

World Runner-up Wolfe

World Finalist Abel

The only difference between original and update version is that Metagross knows the illegal move Ice Beam instead of Ice Punch.

World Finalist Joe

  • Masters Division World Champion Ray Rizzo as "World Champion Ray"
  • Masters Division Runner-up Wolfe Glick as "World Runner-up Wolfe"
  • Masters Division 3rd Place Finisher Abel Martin Sanz as "World Finalist Abel"
  • Masters Division 4th Place Finisher Joe Pulkowski as "World Finalist Joe"
