A Wonder Card is sent together with a Mystery Gift, and it usually provides detail for the gift the player has received. In FireRed, only one Wonder Card could be stored at a time, and players must delete the Wonder Card in order to receive another one. raise the limit to three, and Black and White raise it once more to twelve. Gifts bundled with Wonder Cards can be received from a deliveryman who waits in the second floor of any Pokémon Center in FireRed, and in any Poké Mart in all future games. If a card is deleted before the gift is received, the gift will be deleted as well.
Usage
Wonder Cards in the player's possession can be viewed through the card album feature of the Mystery Gift system. Wonder Cards mention the name of the gift, whether the player has already received the gift, a brief description of the gift, and, starting in Generation IV, the date the Wonder Card was received in the game. An image of the Pokémon, item, or other contents of the gift is also included.

Obtained Wonder Cards can be viewed by accessing Mystery Gift on the main menu of any game with Mystery Gift before Black and White (if it has already been unlocked), and selecting the "Check Card" option or the "Check the Card Album" option for Black and White. Wonder Cards contain such information as the name of the bundled gift, whether or not the player has already received the gift before, the in-game event caused by the Pokémon, the date the gift was received in the game (only in games after FireRed), and a brief description of the gift; an icon of the associated Pokémon is also displayed for further identification.
In Generations III and IV, each event distribution has unique Wonder Card text, which is stored in the card itself. From Generation V onwards, the distribution text serves this role, so the Wonder Card text is instead pulled from a fixed pool that describes where it was obtained; once the event has been collected, the Wonder Card text changes to indicate this.

A Wonder Card (Japanese: ふしぎなカード Wonder Card) is a digital card used by the Mystery Gift system to track events that the player has received. They were introduced in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and have been used in every core series game since.

Some Wonder Cards may also be sent to other players, enabling a player with a Wonder Card to gift a copy of it to other players that do not have it.

Acquisition

The gifts provided by the Wonder Cards can be received from specific non-player characters.

Maximum amount per game

The games can only store a limited number of Wonder Cards. If a player has too many Wonder Cards, they are unable to receive any new ones until they discard old ones. Discarded cards can never be retrieved and if a Wonder Card is deleted before the gift is received, the gift will be deleted as well. Collecting a gift does not cause a Wonder Card to be discarded, although it will be marked as used.
