Wild Area News: Difference between revisions

Any [[Pokémon Den]] can spawn a Max Raid Battle from Wild Area News. Pokémon Dens that do so will always emit a red beam, indicating the "common" pool. In contrast to normal Max Raid Battles (which either only allow Pokémon in 4★ and 5★ raids to have their {{Hidden Ability|Abilities}}, or guarantee Pokémon in the Pokémon Den will always have their Hidden Abilities), all Pokémon that spawn from Wild Area News have a chance of having their Hidden Abilities. Wild Area News Raids battled after [[Pokémon Sword and Shield#Version history|Version 1.2.0 and 1.3.0]] can drop [[Armorite Ore]] and [[Dynite Ore]], respectively, regardless of whether or not the player has purchaced the {{g|Sword and Shield Expansion Pass}}.

All Wild Area News encounters during this time are encounters battles against [[Gigantamax]] {{p|Meowth}}, previously only available via a now-expired [[List of Nintendo Switch Online event Pokémon distributions in Generation VIII#Gigantamax Meowth|event distribution]] for early adopters of {{g|Sword and Shield}}.<ref name="May 12, 2020"/> This also marks the first time players can legitimately obtain {{Shiny}} Gigantamax Meowth. It is also the first time to be available with the Abilities {{a|Technician}} or {{a|Unnerve}}.
