Wide Slash (Japanese: すいへいぎり Horizontal Cut) is a typeless move introduced in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.
Effect
Generation III
Horizontal Cut (as it was known in Generation III) will attack foes on the three tiles diagonally to and in front of the player. It will miss against frozen opponents, and is affected by the Taunted status, and its power can be raised through Ginseng. It has a base 12% critical.
Generation IV
This move is called Wide Slash in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. There are no other changes.
Trivia
- It is one of the only two moves exclusive to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, the other being Vacuum Cut. However, this excludes Excavate and Vertical Cut, both of which were taken out of the game late in development, although their TMs can be obtained through cheating devices.
