Wicke is revealed to be one of the Foundation's employees who disagreed with Lusamine and her obsession with the Ultra Beasts, and also the one who both Gladion and Lillie confided in before they ran away with a specimen of Type: Null and Cosmog, respectively. She is the one who subsequently refers Lillie to go to Professor Burnet to talk about Cosmog. To atone for the Foundation's contribution to the Ultra Beast crisis, she assists the International Police in their efforts to subdue or capture the creatures. She provides the player with Beasts to capture the wild Ultra Beasts with, and freely gives the player information on the Ultra Beasts that the player captures.

In Filling the Light with Darkness!, mysterious dark clouds appeared over Alola, leaving all of the adults tired and without motivation. After doing some research, Wicke, Lusamine, Faba, and Professor Burnet found out that the cause of the incident was a small Ultra Wormhole that was slowly draining Alola's Ultra Aura. Later, at the Altar of the Sunne, she and the others informed the Ultra Guardians of their findings and had them use their Z-Moves to fuel a machine that could disperse the clouds to find out the Ultra Wormhole's exact location. In the next episode, Wicke and the others witnessed Recurring wild Pokémon in the anime and Recurring wild Pokémon in the anime emerging from the Ultra Wormhole. She was later seen arriving at Melemele Island, along with Lusamine, Burnet, and Faba, after Necrozma had fused with Nebby and had left. She and the others then oversaw Lunala recover in the Ultra Guardians base.

Later, after the Ultra Guardians left for Ultra Space with a fully recovered Lunala, Wicke stayed behind at the Ultra Guardians base with Lusamine and Burnet. They tried to find out a way to communicate with the task force after their connection got lost. She finally managed to regain contact with the Ultra Guardians in the next episode, allowing Burnet to inform them of her findings. Wicke reappeared again in Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, where she was seen at Aether Paradise. She was revealed to be close to a Recurring wild Pokémon in the anime, which went missing. Wicke (Japanese: ビッケ Wicke) is the assistant branch chief of the Aether Foundation's Aether Paradise.

In the games

Wicke appears in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Her caring personality makes her popular among the Foundation's staff.

During the player's first visit to Aether Paradise, she takes the player and Hau on a tour of the facility. Before they leave, she gives Hau some malasadas and TM29 (Psychic) to the player.

She provides the player with Beast Balls to capture the wild Ultra Beasts with, and freely gives the player information on the Ultra Beasts that the player captures.

Although Faba is demoted from his position as Branch Chief after the events of the games, it is not known if Wicke was promoted to his position.

B1F
"Excuse me, Mr. Faba..."
"Yes... Branch Manager Faba..."
"Phew..."
"Welcome to Aether Paradise, <player> and Hau. My name is Wicke."
"One of our employees told me about your meeting on Akala Island. And of course, I heard how you helped protect the Pokémon there, too, young Mr. Hau. Thank you very much! Let me show you around. The main entrance is up above us."
"Shall we zip right up there?"
1F
"This is the main entrance. You can have your Pokémon taken care of at the reception desk there, if they need it."
"<Player>? You and Hau are both trial-goers, aren't you? Are you hoping to become champions? I suppose... You must be around 11, then?"
"How...how lovely for you. I suppose all children must yearn to take a journey of their own choosing when they get to be about your age. Though you're hardly just children anymore. Trainers are like parents to their Pokémon!"
"<Player>. Hau. Would you two like to see the conservation area upstairs?"
"We'll zip right up!"
2F
"We keep Pokémon that have been targeted by Team Skull here... And we also try to support Pokémon that need a little extra protection."
"Like Corsola, for example. They are quite terribly overhunted by a Pokémon called Toxapex."
"I hope you don't mind if I read a passage from my Pokédex."
""Toxapex... Toxapex crawls along the ocean floor on its 12 legs. It leaves a trail of Corsola bits scattered in its wake.""
"Nature does have its own balance, of course. It can be difficult to judge just how much we humans should try to affect it, can't it?"
"I couldn't say... It's hard to know for sure what our president is thinking sometimes."
 • If talked to again
"If you'd like to meet President Lusamine, she should be here in the conservation area now."
"That tremor... Did something happen on the lower floors?"
 • If talked to again when Nihilego appears
"That hole... That Pokémon... What in the world are they?"
 • After defeating Nihilego
"O-oh! At once, ma'am!"
"I'll see the two of you to Ula'ula Island, then."
B1F
"I don't know if what happened should be rightly described as an accident, but... I think it's probably best if you do so."
"Anyway, I was very glad to meet you both. Please take this to remember your visit. Some malasadas for Hau..."
"Yes... I think I know what you mean. Meals always taste better when you share them with the ones you love."
"And for you, <player>. A TM for the move Psychic."
"I hope you both have wondrous adventures on your island challenge."
Aether Paradise
1F
"Young master."
"It has been a long time... And hello to you two, <player> and Hau. Please allow me to heal your Pokémon."
"I... imagine that she is with the president."
"But I'm afraid the doors have been locked..."
 • If talked to
"Please look after young Master Gladion. When he is worked up about something, he doesn't consider the consequences. Even going so far as stealing Pokémon... Those two truly are very much alike..."
Lusamine's Room
"You are all unharmed... Oh, thank goodness..."
"Miss Lillie... If you and your friends would like to get some rest first, I have prepared a few beds in the staff's residential quarters..."
 • Outside (the next day)
"<Player>? Miss Lillie is waiting outside... if you're ready to meet her."
B2F (Lift landing)
"<Player>. Welcome back."
"I have to tell you how much I appreciate what you did for Miss Lillie and Madam Lusamine."
"Miss Lillie asked me a last favor before she left. She wanted me to explain to you why she and her mother had to go to Kanto."
"You see... while we do not know if it was because of Nihilego's neurotoxins, her fusion with that beast, or the strain of the Z-Power..."
"the ill effects of this episode on Madam Lusamine's body and mind have been undeniable. She has hardly roused since."
"But Miss Lillie found a ray of hope in a book that she remembered reading long ago."
"It was regarding a man named Bill, who invented the Pokémon Storage System used in our PCs."
"This inventor, who lives in the Kanto region, once combined himself with a Pokémon in an experiment that apparently went awry..."
Just like Lusamine...: "Yes, perhaps there are even more examples in the world of people fusing with Pokémon..."
Why would he do that?: "I suppose it was the same sort of curiosity that led him to develop our storage system."
"The records of this event, however, say that he was separated from the Pokémon by using his Teleporter and a Cell Separation System."
"Perhaps using the same kind of procedure on Madam Lusamine will be able to remove the last of the beast's poisons from her system. That is what Miss Lillie was hoping when she headed to Kanto."
"It pained me greatly when both Miss Lillie and young Master Gladion left Aether Paradise... but I am so proud to see the fine young people that they have become."
"Even sheltered little Master Gladion tried to patch up his own clothing, he said, when his partner Null tore them..."
"Oh! I'm sorry. You probably aren't interested in hearing about that sort of thing, are you? Here, please accept this."
"... ... ... Oh! And take another, too!"
"Now I'll be returning to Secret Lab B so that I can get back to work."
B2F (Secret Lab B)
 • First visit after starting the Ultra Beast missions
"Ah yes, the matter of the UBs. Disclosing info on this is prohibited, so let's please keep this between you and me. First, please take these. The International Police asked me to pass them to you."
Regardless of choice: "Those are Beast Balls, which the Aether Foundation developed in great secrecy... They are a special kind of Poké Ball that are specialized for capturing Ultra Beasts. As a result, they are very expensive to make, so we have not been able to mass-produce them. Please consider your timing very carefully for when you will use them during a battle."
"The appearance of the UBs is something that we at the foundation are to blame for... That is why I will do whatever is within my power to assist you in this. For now, perhaps you should return to Ms. Anabel at the motel in Akala. She may have discovered new info."
 • Subsequent visits after starting the Ultra Beast missions
"Please just ask if there's ever anything that I can help explain, <player>."
Tell me about the Beast Balls: "Ultra Beasts are life-forms from another world. If you try to throw a regular Poké Ball at one, the ball will have a difficult time recognizing the creature as a Pokémon, and so the capturing function will be significantly impaired. But these special balls should allow you to capture beasts quite normally. They could be considered the foundation's negative assets, but I hope they will help you."
What's special about the UBs?: "The UBs surround themselves with an aura called the Beast Boost. The truth of this aura is that it is the energy that flows within the Ultra Wormhole. When the UBs pass through the Ultra Wormhole, they are bathed in a great deal of this energy and likely store it within their bodies. There are also Pokémon on our planet that possess this same kind of energy. I think you know what I mean. The so-called Totem Pokémon that you faced in your trials. This is because the energy pours down upon our planet when the holes open."
Show me the UB data: "Which Ultra Beast would you like to learn more about?"
Nihilego: "UB-01. Code name: "Symbiont." Properly known as Nihilego. There have been sightings reported of this beast in Alola's past. Its most distinctive feature is its parasitic capability. When Nihilego latches on to a host, it does not manipulate its actions directly. Rather it awakens the host's own capabilities and boosts them to an extreme extent in order to protect itself. It injects the host with a sort of neurotoxin to achieve this effect. This neurotoxin of Nihilego's is incredibly stimulating and inspires feelings of extreme excitement and a lack of inhibition in its host. In other words, anything or anyone that a Nihilego latches on to will have its native skills forcibly activated to their fullest extent and will then act as it naturally desires to."
BuzzwoleS: "UB-02. Code name: "Absorption." Properly known as Buzzwole. This UB was sighted for the first time following the incidents at Aether Foundation. Its most distinctive feature is its skill to strengthen itself. Buzzwole is able to absorb energy and then achieve a chemical reaction between the energy it has absorbed and its own body fluids. As a result, Buzzwole's body swells to an almost explosive extent. Its muscles bulge and are so thick and dense that they are stronger even than steel. Both its Attack and Defense experience a clear leap in power. It also displays a habit of striking a pose each time that it takes any sort of action... It is thought this might serve as a method of communication, but it is not well understood."
PheromosaM: "UB-02. Code name: "Beauty." Properly known as Pheromosa. This UB was sighted for the first time following the incidents at Aether Foundation. This UB can reach speeds exceeding 120 mph in just an instant. This speed is greater than any other living creature that has been discovered to date. But its most distinctive features may in fact be its beauty and its powerful pheromones. Most any creature that squares off against a Pheromosa becomes confused, as if struck by the beast's beauty, and loses the will to fight. It is still a subject of research, but it's thought that Pheromosa may possess some sort of organ able to produce a pheromonal substance previously unknown to science."
Xurkitree: "UB-03. Code name: "Lighting." Properly known as Xurkitree. This UB was sighted for the first time following the incidents at Aether Foundation. Its most distinctive feature is an organ that can generate power. This UB's bodily makeup is highly reminiscent of electric wiring, thus enabling it to conduct electricity with great efficiency. It can discharge as much as a million volts of power at a time. When it begins to run out of power, it stabs its legs and tail into the soil, entering a treelike state as it absorbs electricity from the ground."
KartanaS: "UB-04. Code name: "Blade." Properly known as Kartana. This UB was sighted for the first time following the incidents at Aether Foundation. Its most distinctive feature is its thin and razor- sharp body, of which every edge has as cruel a cutting edge as any well-honed blade. The edges on its arms are particularly in a class of their own. Any opponent who tries to attack it will be cut down with a single strike of its "blades." Its thin body also allows it to evade attacks by dancing lightly out of the way. This is a very dangerous creature, considering its excellent offensive and defensive capabilities, but due to the nature of its body, it is also highly vulnerable to fire and moisture."
CelesteelaM: "UB-04. Code name: "Blaster." Properly known as Celesteela. This UB was sighted for the first time following the incidents at Aether Foundation. Its most distinctive feature is the energy that it stores within itself, a flammable gas that it can shoot from its two huge arms. This is mostly used to propel itself in flight and for battle, but it is thought to have sufficient power and lift to even fly into space. Its bodily construction closely resembles that of a plant, and it absorbs nutrients from the soil."
Guzzlord: "UB-05. Code name: "Glutton." Properly known as Guzzlord. This UB has been sighted in the Alola region in the past as well, according to our reports. It seems it was targeted by the International Police in a top-secret mission at that time. Its most distinctive feature is its limitless appetite. It feeds without pause every moment that it is awake. It uses the two large tongues that protrude from its mouth to catch and devour everything in its path, be it organic or inorganic matter. And while it eats such an inordinate amount, Guzzlord excreta has never been discovered. It is thought that it might fully convert the things that it eats into energy for it to use."
"Please...do be careful."

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Aether Paradise
B1F
"Excuse me, Mr. Faba..."
"Yes... Branch Chief Faba..."
"Phew..."
"Welcome to Aether Paradise, <player> and Hau. My name is Wicke."
"One of our employees told me about your meeting on Akala Island. And of course I heard how you helped protect the Pokémon there, too, young Mr. Hau. Thank you very much! Let me show you around. The main entrance is up above us."
"Hey, here's a button... Let's push it!"
"Here's the button... Let's push it!"
2F
"We keep Pokémon that have been targeted by Team Skull here... And we also try to support Pokémon that need a little extra protection. Like Corsola, for example. They are quite terribly overhunted by a Pokémon called Mareanie."
"I hope you don't mind if I read a passage from my old Pokédex. I traveled through Kanto before, when I was younger, you see."
""Corsola. "In Alola, where their natural enemies Mareanie are plentiful, many Corsola have stubby branches on their heads.""
"Nature does have its own balance, of course. It can be difficult to judge just how much we humans should try to affect that, can't it?"
"I couldn't say... It's hard to know for sure what our president is thinking sometimes."
"If you'd like to meet President Lusamine, she should be here in the conservation area now."
 • If talked to again
"If you'd like to continue on, I think you will find the president is still in the area."
"That tremor... Did something happen on the lower floors?"
 • If talked to again when Nihilego appears
"That hole... That Pokémon... What in the world are they?"
 • After defeating Nihilego
"O-oh! At once, ma'am!"
"I'll see the two of you to Ula'ula Island, then."
B1F
"I'm glad you feel that way. What happened here today was a surprise to us as well. But I was very glad to get to meet you both. Please take this to remember your visit. Some malasadas for Hau..."
"Yes... I think I know what you mean. Meals always taste better when you share them with the ones you love. And for you, <player>. A TM for the move Psychic..."
"I hope you both have wondrous adventures on your island challenge."
1F
"Young master."
"It has been a long time..."
"And hello to you two, <player> and Hau. Please allow me to heal your Pokémon."
"I...imagine that she is with the president."
"But I'm afraid the doors have been locked..."
 • If talked to again
"Please look after young Master Gladion. When he is worked up about something, he doesn't consider the consequences. Even going so far as stealing Pokémon... Those two truly are very much alike..."
Lusamine's Room
"You are all unharmed... Oh, thank goodness..."
"Miss Lillie... if you and your friends would like to get some rest first, I have prepared a few beds in the staff's residential quarters..."
Outside (the next day)
"<Player>? Miss Lillie is waiting outside...if you're ready to meet her."
Ancient Poni Path
"My young friend <player>. Congratulations on becoming Champion. I have heard that your final battle against Master Hau was quite fiery. And now the two of you will look into the mysteries of the Ultra Beasts, is that right? I will support you however I can. I've brought you both a little something."
"Young Master Gladion also left something with me for you. It is Type: Null."
If the player's PC is full: "But you have so many Pokémon already that you cannot accept Type: Null now. Please come collect it when you're able. I will be at Aether Paradise."
"I'll also entrust you with all of the memory drives needed to change the type of Type: Null's Evolution—the Pokémon Silvally."
"Type: Null... It was being researched as a possible weapon to be used to fight the Ultra Beasts, but I think a Trainer like you, <player>... Master Gladion thinks you will be able to show Type: Null that there is much more to this wide world than that."
"The members of the Ultra Recon Squad were also making for Poni Grove, I believe."
Aether Paradise
On the TV
"Wha—?! That hole... How is that possible...?"
"Eek!"
"P-President! Please, come back!"
1F
"It's good to see you again, <player>. Please, let me explain the situation. As you may know, the president called a press conference to address the black clouds that engulfed Poni Island, but... An Ultra Wormhole suddenly opened, and a mysterious force took over her mansion! The culprits call themselves... Team Rainbow Rocket. I've heard of Team Rocket before, when I was in the Kanto region... They were an underground criminal organization that used Pokémon for their activities. I think this organization has come to Alola now..."
"I am trying to come up with as many ways to save the president as possible, but... to be honest, the situation isn't good. The enemy is too powerful, and on top of that we don't even know why they're interested in the Aether Foundation!"
There's a swarm of Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts ahead. Take this—you might need it."
"Please, be careful, you two!"
 • If talked to again
"I will keep trying to find a way to fight back on my end, too. ...I swear, where has Faba gone to at a time like this?"
1F
"Oh, <player>! Thank you very much for your assistance in saving Aether Paradise!"
"I don't think he will return to the position of branch chief anytime soon... Oh, and before I forget! Here, take these."
"I imagine Team Rainbow Rocket planned to use those as funding. They hid a whole bunch in the president's room. They're all yours!"
"Oh, right away!"
"I will see you later!"

Wicke in the anime

Wicke debuted in A Dream Encounter!. She, along with Lusamine, Professor Burnet, and Faba, investigated the Altar of the Sunne due to Ultra Aura being detected from that location, but they were unable to find anything there. She later accompanied Lusamine and Professor Burnet to Professor Kukui's house on Melemele Island, where she met Ash and Nebby.

In Deceiving Appearances!, she guided Ash and his classmates through Aether Paradise during their visit to the facility. Wicke appeared again in Faba's Revenge!, in which she informed Lusamine and Professor Burnet about Faba's still unknown whereabouts. She was later seen escorting Gladion to his mother's office. In Family Determination!, she arrived at the Aether Paradise labs, where she witnessed Lusamine's abduction.

Following Lusamine's rescue, Wicke attended the wedding of Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet in The Professors' New Adventure!. Later, she, alongside Lusamine and Faba, invited Ash and his classmates to join the Ultra Guardians, a task force dedicated to capturing Ultra Beasts, which they accepted. Starting in A Mission of Ultra Urgency!, Wicke, along with Lusamine and Professor Burnet, would brief Ash and his classmates whenever they embark on a mission as Ultra Guardians. She also accompanies them when the caught Ultra Beast gets released back into Ultra Space.

Wicke briefly reappeared in The Shape of Love to Come!. She was seen with Lusamine and Faba, when Ash, Professor Burnet, and Professor Kukui contacted them to inform them about Poipole's habit of putting its feelings into its drawings, which she described as romantic.

A younger Wicke with Lusamine, Mohn, and Faba

In Filling the Light with Darkness!, mysterious dark clouds appeared over Alola, leaving all of the adults tired and without motivation. After doing some research, Wicke, Lusamine, Faba, and Professor Burnet found out that the cause of the incident was a small Ultra Wormhole that was slowly draining Alola's Ultra Aura. Later, at the Altar of the Sunne, she and the others informed the Ultra Guardians of their findings and had them use their Z-Moves to fuel a machine that could disperse the clouds to find out the Ultra Wormhole's exact location. In the next episode, Wicke and the others witnessed Lunala and Necrozma emerging from the Ultra Wormhole.

Wicke then joined the rest of Alola in sharing their light with Necrozma so it could return to its true form. After Necrozma returned to its Ultra form, Wicke watched as the Ultra Guardians, Nebby, and Lunala returned to Alola, alongside Lusamine, Burnet, Faba, and Kukui.

In Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, Wicke was revealed to be close to a Stufful, which went missing at Aether Paradise. She revealed that she found it trapped under a fallen tree and brought it to Aether Paradise to recover. The group eventually found Stufful clinging onto Jessie's hair and watched as Bewear grabbed them. Wicke then realized that Bewear was Stufful's mother and happily watched their reunion before Bewear took Team Rocket and Stufful back to her den.

Prior to A Dream Encounter!, Wicke found this Stufful while it trapped under a fallen tree. She rescued it and then brought it to Aether Paradise so it could live there. Over time, they became extremely close. In Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, when she heard that Stufful was missing, Wicke got worried. Eventually, she realized Bewear was Stufful's mother and happily watched as they were reunited.

None of Stufful's moves are known.

In Deceiving Appearances!, five Ditto were shown inside a room that allowed them to remain in their original forms and not transform into other Pokémon. Ash and his classmates (except for Lillie) each held one of them so that Professor Burnet could give them their vaccinations. One of the Ditto eventually escaped during the process and roamed around Aether Paradise's conservation area, using Transform to trick its pursuers. This Ditto was eventually caught when Ash dove onto it while it was posing as Lillie's Alolan Vulpix, Snowy. It was then taken back to the room.

In Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, Wicke was shown happily tending to the Ditto in the same room during Ash and Lillie's trip to Aether Paradise.

One of the Ditto's only known moves is Transform.

Wicke in Pokémon Adventures

Wicke debuted in PASM15. She and Faba met with Moon, Professor Kukui, and Professor Burnet. Wicke explained that the three were rescued by the Aether Foundation after being attacked by a wild Bruxish and left lost at sea. Faba revealed that they were taken to Aether Paradise and offered to give them a tour of the place.

Six months later, Faba had managed to take control over the Aether Foundation. When Lusamine went missing, Wicke and an Aether Foundation Employee managed to locate her on Poni Island playing with a group of Ultra Beasts. Their attempts to dock on the island were thwarted by a Celesteela, forcing them to return to the Aether House on Ula'ula Island and meet up with Gladion and Lillie. When Gladion suggested going to get Lusamine, Wicke refused due to the boy's injuries. Wicke decided the best option was for her and the Employee to return to Aether Paradise and gather information.

Later, Wicke and the Employee returned to Poni, only to find Lusamine and the Ultra Beasts gone. After returning to shore, Wicke encountered Mina and an injured Guzma. Mina had come to Poni to meet with the other Trial Captains, but mistakenly went to the wrong location. Wicke had Mina taken to Exeggutor Island to join the other captains while Guzma was taken to a medical ward to recuperate.

Main article: Wicke (Burning Shadows 127)

Wicke was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sun & Moon Series (the Japanese SM Era). It was first released in the Japanese Darkness that Consumes Light expansion before debuting in English in the Burning Shadows expansion, with an illustration based on the Ken Sugimori artwork of the character, with the background artwork by take. It was also released as a Full Art card in Darkness that Consumes Light and Burning Shadows, with an illustration by Naoki Saito. Wicke makes each player count the cards in their hand, shuffles those cards into their deck, then draws that many cards.
